Our experience with Boulevard was absolutely awful. When we signed our contract over a year before the wedding, Blake was the owner and was great to deal with. He let us decorate on Friday because nothing was booked for that day and he approved the decorations I already had in mind. About 6 months before the wedding we found out Blake had hired a 'coordinator' and things started to go downhill. She was upset with us when we chose not to do one of her package deals because we'd already secured several other vendors (better vendors for prices lower than she could offer) and then told us we'd have to pay her $100/hr to put up our decor the day before the wedding. That was not written anywhere in the contract, but Blake went along with it. When we got to the venue on Friday we found out that Blake was no longer the owner as of 3 weeks ago. There was no phone call or email even to let us know. The new owners are several vendors who have quite obviously not been in business for long, as you'll read later. Also, the AC was not turned on (it was 95 degrees outside) and they informed us that they'd turn it on an hour before the reception was scheduled to start because it 'only takes 10 minutes to cool down the room'. A room with 300 people in it? Not likely. They were rude and not at all helpful the entire day. On Saturday when guests started arriving at the reception the AC was STILL not on. They had turned it on, but it blew the breaker and shut off. The thermostat said 85 degrees. Wouldn't you think you'd check on that? The bathrooms were disgusting, one of the two toilets in the women's bathroom wasn't working, there was a musty smell (that they said would go away when the AC was turned on), and the owners were walking around our reception in nasty t-shirts and shorts eating our food and drinking our alcohol. A couple pans of leftover food even disappeared from the fridge in the back. At the end of the night when my family members voiced some of their complaints the owner asked my brother-in-law (the best man) if he wanted to 'take it outside' and settle it. He cussed at everyone there including my MOTHER in front of children and he wanted to solve the problem by fighting. A business owner providing a public service wants to settle a disagreement by having a fist fight?! Absolutely terrible venue and service. PLEASE do not make the same mistake we did by using them!
