I haven't seen Photo Booth Express or Shutter Box at any weddings, but I have been to several friends' weddings in MI that had ShutterBooth. Everyone I know had a wonderful experience and gave them rave reviews!

I think they do weddings in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio as well.

They don't offer old fashioned photobooths, but they have a modern version that prints digital photo strips. Their booth looked very elegant and classy. It was small and not too overwhelming, yet it seemed to fit a lot of people! People seemed to have a ton of fun with it!

The quality of the photos seemed to be really good. I think they also offer you the option of putting your & logo or monogram at the bottom of the photo strip. I think they designed my friend's for her. The staff was very professional and nice as well.

One of my friends also had them do a scrapbook. They color coordinated it with her wedding colors, and one of their hosts put all the photos in it and had the guests sign it as a guestbook. It turned out really cute!

I would definitely recommend checking them out as well!

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a picture (of them wearing) the JIM HJELM 8611 dress? I have only a few pictures I found online and none had great detail. I have tried on the dress as well but the problem was that it was in blush color and 3 sizes too big. Clamps helped but still made the dress look a bit wonky on me.

I would love to see the dress on a real person in an ivory or beige color in order to make a decision.

thanks!

We used Photo Booth Express and loved them!!! They were really easy to work with, and the photos were awesome!!! It was a huge hit! I was obsessed with it! :) I think that my favorite picture of me and my hubby was from the photobooth and not from our professional photographer (who was also great).

I love vintage photobooths, but the extra roominess of Photo Booth Express was great. It's fun to be able to fit a huge group.

We bought a Kolo guestbook with black pages (makes the black & white pictures pop), some metallic pens, and a Tombow adhesive roller. The assistant that ran the photobooth helped show the guests what to do. Our guestbook turned out fantastic!

I havent seen PhotoBooth Express so I dont know about them. We attended a wedding last month that had ShutterBox Photo Booth. I was very impressed with this booth. And probably 10 of us could fit in, standing. It wasn't a traditional mall booth looking thing. It looked really fancy and high tech. They had a scrapbooking table where everyone took doubles of their pictures and wrote little notes. The attendant for the company helped everyone put the book together - so I don't know if you'd need a friend to do it? It was really cute, and the booth was definately the hit of the night. We still have the pics up on our fridge, quality looks top notch to me. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your quick reponse, Emerald. I have debated the pros and cons of a traditional vintage photo booth and the modern box type. I'm afraid the traditonal booth might be too small for groups of friends or families that want to pose together. But I've heard the film photos from the vintage booths last longer without fading compared to the digital pics. It sounds like you were ahppy with the pics quality, though. I also want to get duplicate prints.

I was thinking of asking an acquaintance who scrapbooks to be at a small table to glue in the prints and get signatures and messages in the scrapbook as the night goes on. Does this seem feasible now that you've seen the set-up? Also, did you look for other photobooth vendors? I found this one randomly in the Internet so I am glad to have a good recommendation but am wondering if you considered others.

Mrs.Peacock used them for her wedding a few weeks ago! (I was her coordinator.)

I thought they were pretty good, although the "booth" was really more of a large black box and not any sort of vintage photobooth (if thats what you are looking for). I did get to test out the booth though, and thought the quality of the printing was very good. It printed out from a printer very quickly and did not require any drying time. Mrs.Peacock opted to have 2 copies of each strip, one for her album and one for the guest(s). And it also printed her logo at the bottom which was a nice touch. The attendant was fine, if not a bit bored for the first few hours when guests were having cocktails and dinner. Later on after the booth was announced, it was a hit and there was quite a line! Hope that helps =)

I am looking to find out which boutiques in Chicago or suburs carry Christos gowns. I tried on Christos 5006 that I REALLY liked at Belle Vie on Oak Street, but the px quoted was (gasp) over $5,000 ! I am willing to pay in mid 3,000, max 4,000 for a new dress or less for sample in good condition.

Anybody can suggest a place to go ?

I just went to a bachelorette party in Chicago where we stayed at the W Lakeshore and it was a totally awful experience. Everything that they had promised us, they were unable to deliver on. On prior occasions, I've stayed at the Hotel Allegro and Hotel Monaco and they were both quite nice. A bit more upscale is the Peninsula which has a great tea service if you're interested in doing a high tea. Just as fabulous is the new Residence in at River North and the Affinia. Have a great time there, Chicago is one of my favorite cities!

Actually if you ladies are young and looking to cut loose and have fun with the locals, I'd probably not suggest staying downtown. Try to find a hotel in Lincoln Park or Lakeview. Chicago people still hang out down town but most of us go to the surrounding neighborhoods (Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lakeview) since that's where we live. It's lots of tourists in downtown. If you still want to stay downtown, then I'd suggest somewhere that's close to an El stop. I believe there's a Courtyard Marriott that's close to the Grand Red Line.

It depends on your budget, but I love the W Hotel Lakeshore which is in a great location and has a trendy, fun vibe. The Affinia Hotel (which is close to the W) is supposed to be nice and has a very cool rooftop bar called C-View. The Marriott Hotel on Mich Ave is not terribly exciting, but is in a great location. The James Hotel is another favorite of mine, but might be a little pricey.

Gerbers just have really heavy heads, but it can be countered. When my husband sent me a gerber bouquet for my birthday the past two years, they come with little straws on the stems to keep them from bending. Minis have less of a problem.

Any florist will know how to wire any flowers that need it, and if you do it yourself, there are lots of tips online. I'm partial to gerber bouquets, but I think tulip ones would be gorgeous too!
