Grammarous - May I highly suggest the florist I used, Last Petal (www.lastpetal.com). She is located in La Grange but serves both Houston and Austin (no extra fee, comes to you for initial consultation). I couldn't have been more thrilled. She has the most awesome eye for detail. My wedding was August 30 and by far the best vendor I selected out of all of them.

I used Who Made the Cake and loved them (looked and tasted great).

I really like my photographers pictures as well as her, however her communication is a bit on the lacking side and I won't recommend her.

I did the same thing for our wedding because we're pretty picky with music. Are you actually providing the music on CD's for him? That's what we did and there was no way he was going to play anything else (especially since he didn't even bring his music collection.) So if that's the case I wouldn't worry too much about them playing do-not-play songs.

Did you read my post from several months ago on this board for DJ recs? My sister ended up going with Rockin Robin and she seems pleased. Good luck!

We are having THE HARDEST time finding a good DJ.

We want to be able to have a good MC, but we will provide all the music to be played and the order to play it.

I have heard so many stories about DJ's agreeing to play the music given and then not playing it! I totally don't understand this, but I digress.....

Any rec's ladies?

Thanks!

Hi girls! I'm a recently married chick and now my sister, who lives in Galveston, is getting married in H-Town and I'm helping her plan her wedding. As far as a florist rec, we are super excited about the one she chose: Pod Flower Studio (she's in the Woodlands- not sure if that's close to Sugarland at all). Here's some info about her from my blog: http://www.videobrideblog.com/2008/08/nic-cam-florist.html

It's fun to "meet" locals because I'm an avid Weddingbee reader (for about two years now) but the blgogers are always ladies from other parts of the country. Love this blog and I hope I can be helpful to anyone!

I guess I'm a little late, but I just found Wedding Bee!

I'm a Houston bride - getting married at Agave Road in Katy (yes, I've heard all the stories, but they are good people and I absolutely fell in love with it and Had To Have It!). Have a planner (Lauren at Master Plan Events), bought my dress (Brickhouse Bridal) a few weeks ago, just hired my florist (Stems by Holly - love her!), and am negotiating with my photog. I found Wedding Bee last week when looking for invites (Oh, how obsessed I am with the invites....) :)

My photographer Katya, whom I adore is just starting to do Boudoir pics. www.slightclutter.com . Her style is more natural, romantic type shots.

Christine Tremoluet does boudoir, her style is natural as well. www.freshphotography.org

If you want edgier, more heavily processed, editorial style I would go with Donna at www.paperdollshouston.com

Any one of these will do a great job for you.

We've worked with Retro DJ To Go. Mind you, this was a Sweet 16 party, so the playlist was totally different than a wedding, but they seemed to be really flexible and they knew what they were doing. Check them out.

I'm helping my sister look for a DJ for her March wedding in Houston. We want someone that can play some of the usual wedding music (Sinatra, etc.) but also some "cool" music like Hot Chit, Emmylou Harris, Chromeo, Griffin House, James Brown, etc. We really want to avoid an iPod reception. AND we're trying to keep it under $800 or so. AND he or she needs to be chill and understated. Any suggestions? (Or even suggestions for a reasonably priced chill DJ that can follow instructions well.) Thanks in advance!
