First anniversary is paper - what are you getting your new hubby to celebrate? Are you going on vacation, staying home, or just planning to celebrate the holidays with your new in-laws?

It was a great day, the weather held up fine. It was cloudy but did not rain and it was in the low 70s so I didn't even need the wrap I bought.  Our parents took horrible pics so I don't have much to put up for now till the pro ones come back. The only glitch was the bouquet, the florist totally botched it and DH and I had to go get flowers from the grocery store then tear apart the bouquet, add flowers and reassemble. It turned out pretty good.  After the ceremony we had lunch w/ our parents then we went to the courthouse to have the license recorded, then to the bank (I work at a bank) to have the accounts changed and close an inactive account.  The remainder of the night we just enjoyed being married and celebrated NYE w/ an ice cream cake.

I've been married for a little over two weeks now, and it still feels surreal!  hubby is in bed with the flu and I'm enjoying my last week of relaxation before the craziness starts. so what's a newly married gal to do?  Tell her fellow december brides about her wedding of course! We had some issues - most notably that North Carolina requires you to have proof of social security - as in a W2 or your card rather than the passport that is required for a job application.  As neither of us live in NC now, we spent a rather hectic day hunting that info down, but in the end, it all worked out and our wedding paperwork was even signed by a former classmate of the hubbys! Second issue was the weather.  24 hours before the wedding, North Carolina got snow - everywhere but Raleigh.  We got about an hour of big wet flakes but nothing that stuck, whereas Greensboro, where many of our guests were coming from, got almost 4 inches (not a lot to my Oregon eyes, but to a North Carolinian??  Hoo Boy!)  The phone calls started coming in and several people let us know they weren't going to be able to make it.  Everyone who was flying into Raleigh however landed safe and sound.  The Rehearsal dinner was a bit sparse, but that meant more yummy food to go around! (Sullivan's steak house - AWESOME!  Great food, great people!  I even had two waitresses help me sponge off a red wine stain on my dress right in the middle of the evening.  I cannot say enough how great they were to us!) The weather also sadly prevented much of my family from coming.  My great uncle and a cousin were all that made it besides my parents and sister.  Other issues that came up: Makeup artist cancelled due to her mother dying in Atlanta.  I had never met the sub and was understandably a little nervous that morning.  Also, the priest almost didn't make it TO the wedding and nearly didn't make it BACK to Kentucky in time for church the next day, all due to weather.

OK, there's not much to this post except that our wedding day is this Saturday and everything just feels so surreal!  Today is my first day off of work, and it is pouring rain and I am sitting here in my apartment watching TV and writing letters to my wedding party.  Next I have to polish the cupcake stand.  So many funny and random jobs.  I am really trying to be in the moment.  I wish my FI didn't have to work today and go to class tonight! My parents arrive tomorrow and I think that's when the serious crazzzzzzzziness is going to start.  Ahh!  Anyone else out there a 12-12 bride (or 12-11 or 12-13)?  How do you feel?

I'm getting MARRIED in a week!!!!! Ahhh!!!! Yay!!!! It's finally almost here!!!! Haha! I am leaving town today for Ohio, and will most likely be too busy to check in here often, but I will try if I get a little down time!  Then we are leaving pretty much immediately for the honeymoon!  We're going on a cruise to the Caribbean.  So hopefully the bad weather holds out until 1/1/2010 when our flight leaves!  I hope all you bees have a very Merry Christmas, (had) a very Happy Chanukah, a very Happy Kwanzaa, and a very Happy New Year!!!! Okay ladies, we are all hitting the 50 days and less, so spill. How are you doing? What are you freaking out over? What are you so not worried about? I've got 39 days (Dec 19) and I am loving how everything is coming together, but my fiance's family just sprung a "we'll pay for a videographer that you find" which is stressful.  His grandma can't come, so they want this for her...just a bit hard for me!  Let me know how you are doing!
