Attention all December brides!
What date are you picking in December?
Do you think December 20th is to close to christmas?
Are you getting positive or negative feedback for having a December wedding, and how do you deal with the negative?

Me and my fiance got engaged Dec.20th 2009. We are looking at a 2014 wedding. I would love to get married on December 20th 2014. But am wondering if it is to close to christmas. The 20th is a saturday, christmas would be the following thursday. Christmas is my all time favorite time of the year, and i personally dont think it is to close but was wondering what others thought.

let's hear it ladies - the goods, the bads, and the uglies.

i'll go first, and i'll start with one of each so as not to overwhelm anybody, lol.

good: it snowed on our wedding day! in the southwest (far west texas) it never snows. i remember the church doors opening after our ceremony, and the snow was falling sooo beautifully! seeing the bushes lightly touched with snow, and our limo in the background was an amazing sight! ahh, i loved it!

bad: it snowed on our wedding day, lol. so the ground where we took wedding party pics (in an open field) was moist. which led to muddy, messy shoes and one filthy dress. after a little elbow grease though, the guys shoes were cleaned and the girls changed into their slippers we gifted them, so all was ok. oh, and my moh worked wonders to clean up the exposed parts of my dress that were diiiirty - the underside i didn't care so much about, lol.

ugly: omg, i was pretty pissed when i left my makeup/hair appointment. my hair looked amazing! my makeup was a total fail. i booked this one salon because they were the only ones that did airbrush within like a 20 mile radius of my parents' house (where i was getting ready). that morning, their airbrush machine wasn't working so i had to settle for regular foundation. i was so mad, i started tearing up as soon as i talked to my husband (eep!) after my appointment. i've always had really bad acne, and the airbrush worked wonders to cover up blemishes/dark patches/scars/etc. (i had a trial back in october). their regular foundation didn't do crap for coverage. you could still see a few dark spots around my chin and it didn't fully cover a small pimple i had on my cheek. the only consolation the manager could offer was "i'm sorry - it was a mechanical problem, not ours." arg. i was sooo mad. and even more upset when half my makeup had rubbed off mid dance from all the hugging/kissing guests all day. :(

ok, your turn - share it all ladies!

Well bees, this is it! Our wedding isn't until Friday, but my family is starting to come into town tonight, and our bachelor/bachelorette parties are tomorrow, so I am officially signing off as a single lady!

You all have been such an inspiration to me in the past year of planning. I have learned so much from each and every one of you. Because of you, I have learned many things that I never knew, and have had support in situations where no one else understood.

Wedding planning is hard - it is stressful, confusing, and sometimes not really that fun. It is amazing to have a place like this to turn, where people can simplify things that confuse you, offer tips, and sometimes, just lend a shoulder to cry on.

You all are absolutely amazing - because of you, I know that the wedding we are having on Friday is the best reflection of us as a couple. What more could you want?

Thank you so much for everything you have done - I can't wait to pop back in and share my pictures and recaps. Don't worry, I will be on the 'Bee for a long time! :-)

Signing off--

alright ladies, we're in the homestretch! how is everybody holding up? what does the next week and a half have in store for you?

we're in the wrap-up stage now - final meetings and payments to vendors, printing signage, printing programs, working out logistics of who/what goes where when, confirming tuxedo pickups and salon appointments. it all feels so surreal. in ten days this miss.c turns into a mrs.v. ahhh, i can't wait!

spill it ladies - what are ya'll feeling?!

Ugh I am so frustrated today. Our wedding is FRIDAY and we have three members of our wedding party trying to get out of the New York/New Jersey area. It is a mess. So much snow...

Wish us luck, as our guys are supposed to fly in the day after tomorrow.....

..Oh, and hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas!! :-)
