I am thinking about getting married on January 1st, 2010. Will having a new years day wedding affect availability of vendors and such? I already talked to a florist and she said they are usually closed on that date? Is anyone else thinking of a new years day wedding?

Thanks

So, as of tomorrow, you can see the weather for next Saturday in the ten day forecast. My only feeling was, "woah".

We chose January out of process of elimination. We were engaged in June also, and I've always wanted a spring wedding. But our church doesn't have weddings during Lent (Feb-April) - it's a new policy - so it was either Jan or May. And we didn't want to wait until May :) At least we live in FL, b/c I really don't like winter!

We choose January because I graduated in december (as in a week ago, go me!) And also because we hate the cliche valentines day thing in feb.

I'm so happy we basically choose the slowest time of the year. Everything is on super sale!

We live in LA so weather isn't that much of an issue for us. I would have loved to do a "winter" wedding theme but thats just not possible out here, which is just fine :e)

A month from TODAY! :)

We chose January for a few reasons... We got engaged in June, and wanted a winter wedding. November would be too soon after the day his sister was supposed to get married, December is too busy and expensive, February seems just too cliche to us (both of us hate Valentine's day). What about you?

Oh yes, EVERYTHING is indoors. Everything is at the same place, as a matter of fact, as I can't see packing the 90 year old grandmas into cars in what will surely be rainy weather. I have already accepted the fact that it will rain (I even bought some bright red rain boots, just for fun). However, now I'm thinking it might snow- we just got almost a foot of snow. In Seattle, that's weird. It would be such a pain if it snowed, as Seattle is just a bunch of steep, steep hills.

I hate to say it, but I would rent those heat lamps. You're friend will probably be just fine out there, but will there be any older guests? They often get cold more easily. However, if they are in the center of the group, everyone around them might keep them perfectly warm!
