I also used the Urban Collective for their discount. They won't be sending my proof for awhile (and I can't get in touch with my cantor to even approve the text to begin with, ugh) but I love the design.

I adore the peony cut ones but they were a little too pricey.

We went with the damask peony design.

I think it's beautiful. I can't wait to sign it :).

I ordered my ketubah last week for my wedding in May. They were running a discount, though. I think the standard for proofing and delivery is typically two months or so.

My stepmother and father were under the chuppah, and not my mom, but our situation was different from yours. Your father is being unreasonable and your mom is being magnanimous.

I'd have them all if it's ok with them all. If you wanna exclude your father's wife, then try to get the rabbi to take the blame.

Maybe tell your father that step-mom is important but the wedding is attended by important people you love, most of whom won't be under the chuppah.

I am having my wedding at the synagouge and the Rabbi is included in the cost, however it would be more if you wanted a Rabbi from a different synagouge to come.

Ok, this is my first post on here, but I'm looking for some advice. My parents divorced when I was pretty young and my father remarried shortly after (when I was about 9 or so). I lived with my mother growing up but did spend a lot of time with my dad and stepmother. My parents don't really get along and of course the wedding is causing more conflict...the current big debate with who gets to stand under the chuppah and when/how they get there. Everyone has actually agreed that my mom and dad are walking me down the aisle - but my dad insists my stepmother be up under the chuppah (going as far to say he'd rather have no one under there then not have her next to him!) and my mom feels she shouldn't be (but is at this point willing for her to be up there for some portion). Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What did you do?

We are hoping to get our rabbi for about $500, he married my sister and doing her baby naming in a few weeks (maybe there's a family rate!), and are having a very secular but traditional ceremony. And I thought what we were paying was high... wow!

That is just nuts. We were getting quotes for $500-$700. Ultimately, we are going with a family friend, but honestly, we would have had a good family member pay $25 to become legal to perform the ceremony for the day.

@2dBride: yea, we made a few more phone calls and I think the going rate is really closer to $500! I'm not sure why that Rabbi thought asking $1,800 was appropriate, even if it is more expensive in NYC.
