Hey July brides!

How are you all feeling? Do you have a lot left to do?

I am feeling good so far! Every once and a while I will begin to think about the wedding and get butterflies in my tummy! I am so excited and I can't believe how fast time has gone by.

I still have to give all my final numbers to the venue and bakery.

I still have to do place cards and seating chart

Make favors

I know I have a ton more stuff to do - but can't think of it all.... Luckily I made a list which may keep me from losing my mind.

My shower is next weekend and I think after that is over, the following weeks are going to go by so fast!!

I am still missing a TON of RSVP cards. I made my deadline June 20th so hopefully I will get the rest by then - if not I will have a lot of phone calls to make. :)

We're getting married on July 11th, but it does say "month twins," so...

Anybody? Bueller?

July brides (and grooms!), how much planning have you done? I just got my save-the-dates sent out, finally, and I know they'll get mixed in with everyone's Christmas cards, but I couldn't stand to have them stacked all over the place, reproaching me. I also finally bought a dress, which I know is something most brides seem ecstatic about doing, but I was less than enthused.

Also, fellow 7-11-ers, how many of you will be seeking out your free slurpee on your wedding day? ;)

Well, I've been dreading this mile marker, but we've got a month left! In the few days before a month, I kind of felt like I have a few extra days as a buffer. Now that there is a month left, I feel like I have to be extremely disciplined.

We finally buckled this week and got some tents. Apparently it's been raining daily in Tahoe in June. Hopefully this will ward off all rain.

We seem to continue to add things to the to do list instead of checking things off... which needs to stop soon!

So how are you doing?

So I opened my gmail at work today and sitting in the inbox is an email from The Knot declaring One Month To Go!!!

I've got a bazillion things to do, and yet at this point just kinda want to throw my hands in the air and say, oh well I don't need programs / menus / assigned seating / a first dance song / a tasting with our (obnoxiously lazy) caterer at our venue / favors / etc.

Anyone else overwhelmed by the details and losing perspective on why exactly we are doing this? I love my guy, and think now he wasn't so crazy for suggesting we elope and not tell anyone...

Hello to the several date twins for July 4th, 2009!

I had a question pertaining to the date itself. A few of our friends were shocked and surprised that we chose July 4th. However, our venue is located in the heart of downtown and there are two separate firework displays visible from our venue. We were excited to choose this date because we thought it would create some wonderful photo opportunities! (We also sent save-the-dates a full year in advance and have blocks reserved in two different hotels for OOT guests)

Has any reacted negatively toward your choice of July 4th? How did you choose to respond?
