The reason is---your family/friends will have enough things to attend in the weeks leading up to the wedding.  Many people do not have engagement parties. For a bridal tea or bridal shower---it's up to your hostesses, but here, we do primarily bridal teas  and they are held 2-3 months prior to the wedding.   We never do them in the month of the wedding. Lingerie shower is usually 1 month to 2 weeks before the wedding. Bacholorette, if there is one, usually 1-2 weeks before the wedding. Bridesmaid's luncheon---no more than 7 days prior to the wedding.   Hope that helps!

This is it, tomorrow is my big day. I am surprisingly calm and ready for it to be whatever it is to be. I am sure something will probably not go as planned and I am ok with that! I am thrilled that we will be outdoors and weather is supposed to be good. Tomorrow at age 45 I will leave being single behind. It is so stange! A whole new life lies ahead! Thanks to everyone here for being supportive, and for your wonderful ideas and inspiration!

oOK I needed to hear this. SO many thigns didn't go as planned but it was perfect. I needed that! So many things are going wrong and not as planned but I have to remember that it will still be perfect! Thanks and congrats.

I *JUST* got a call from my photographer today and don't have the hard copies yet...just viewing them online. Don't worry!! I hope you get them soon! It is WONDERFUL :) :) another thing you could do is get a bunch of guests/families photos onto flickr.com or etc and print out/order copies and make an album of those to have for now (or 4 albums with 700 pictures like I did! haha)

I just delivered the disc of pictures to my <a href="http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/update-more-pro-pics-from-fab-the-studio-b-photography-lt3">last June bride</a> (June 26th) at the end of last week. May and June are SUPER SUPER SUPER busy for photographers because it's high wedding season, so yours is probably backed up with editing. I know how hard it is to wait for your pictures though...We were told 6-8 weeks by our photographer and it ended up taking 8 weeks and three days.  Those last three days were miserable because I was SO excited to see them and hated waiting. You'll get them soon!  Looking forward to seeing them, your engagement pictures were beautiful :)

I don't have anything! We knew there was a 10-week period in which he promised to get them to us, and we've got about 2 weeks left on that (wedding on June 5). At least once a day I turn to FI and I just say "wedding pictures..." and he says "I know".

I still don't! Our photographer is super unreliable! He was an hour late for the wedding and said he was finished w/ the pics and would send them out the next day. On month later we're still waiting. he said that he had computer troubles....a call would've been nice.
