Oh! I just thought of something: if you use a paper other than tissue or an adhesive material, you should probably see what happens if you burn it! (If the paper turns really black, or the glue smells funny...) That's prob'ly why that scrapbook-y lady used tissue paper...unless, of course, your candles are purely decorative or really really thick pillars. Those tend to burn down the center (esp. if you "start" them at home first, out of any breezes) and leave a hollow shell.

By the way...I re-read the instructions at the link I posted above, and she used tissue paper to print the words/art on. She includes a warning that that could damage your printer.

I'd go w/ what Melanie said and use vellum -- there are some really light weight ones out there; they're not all super sturdy. I accidentally ended up w/ the lightweight type -- it was a generic, cheap brand, so maybe that was part of the reason it was so thin.

In case you don't want to bother to click the link, the process is, basically, to print on the tissue/vellum, and adhere that to the candle using a heat gun and wax paper.

or you can use full sheets of adhesive labels. they're sold right next to the regular sized mailing, return address labels. you can just set it up in a text box in ms word, cut it out and then affix it to your candle. good lcuk!

Hi PhxBride! I commented in one of Miss Daffodil's posts about a site I found that shows you how to put your own designs on candles. Looks pretty simple, as long as you have all the "stuff" and a whole bunch of patience!

http://www.scrapgirls.com/Chit_Chat_070816_Thurs_Real.htm

This is from a scrapbooking newsletter; you’ll need to scroll down about at least halfway to find the right part. It’s called “Way Cool Stuff Product Review: Embellishments.”

If it works, I'd love to hear about it...especially the part about how long it takes!

You can't tell, but I bet it has a very transparent vellum around the candle, which should be super easy to do - just print and cut. We're actually doing a memory tree. Since we're marrying in November, we have a leafless, resin tree with many different branches and we're placing hanging votive cups and mini picture frames in it with pictures of our loved ones that have passed away. In front of that we have a larger picture frame with a nice sentiment and their names.

I want to do something like "missynplt" did, with her "in memory of" candle. Might be a dumb question, but is there a simple process for this? Any certain way to do it? Thanks!
