Pengy is right, I did use her and I LOVED her and would totally recommend her to anyone :)

Her price sounds totally reasonable. I didn't pay for my alterations, my mom did, but if I remember correctly she charged me about the same for a hem and a bustle.

The quality of her work is outstanding and well worth it :)

I am buying my dress in Philadelphia, where I grew up, but need to have it altered here in Tucson (where I now live and plan to get married). I plan on spending around $5,000 for my dress and I would hate to spend that much only to have it butchered by a seamstress. Any suggestions? I've heard horror stories about Hem and Her, but I don't want to go to some dry cleaner with a tailor in back. Help!

@mrs mossman - Thanks! Some people have said they've gotten their straight necklines altered into a sweetheart neckline and it wasn't that expensive. I can only see your reflection a bit in the mirror but the straight neckline looks good.

Hmm i wish I would have found the 1938! I love the sweatheart neckline. I'm not very busty and it would have enhanced what little I have!

@bvig you look gorgeous! I love that veil!

Miss French Bulldog used her and I believe she had a pleasant experience:

i think your getting a deal. the going rate just for hemming in socal is about $400. if youre unsure. shop around. but keep in mind you want the dress back in pristine condition...no need to save $100 in alteration costs only to spend $250 to have it dry cleaned because it came back dirty...

Hi,

Has anyone been to Mahtab for their dress alterations? I just went and saw her and was quoted a lot more than I had expected and wanted to know if this was normal for others. (About $300.00 for a simple hem and taking in the bust). My dress is simple, no beading or lace, just a little pleating.

Thanks!

@ mrscingle2be - I HATE when sample sizes are too big! :( I'm hoping I don't run into that problem when I go shopping again.

Sweetheart necklines are actually the #1 requirement for my dress. I feel like it's really the only flattering neckline on me.

Stephanie - I had on 1938 and really liked it but the sample was HUGE so I couldn't visualize it and I don't think I look good in a sweetheart but it is a beautiful dress!
