I am just catching up on this post and I am so facinated - how did this turn out? Did you end up talking with her and letting her know how you felt or did you end up bowing out?!

My bridesmaid dresses are the Merona line from Target, and I really like them. They have a couple choices in tangerine:

I would make the one you think would be the best person to help you with planning and calm you down day of your MOH. That's what's really important. As for the shorter to taller thing, I'm not doing it that way (I don't think!). I have 3 short BM's and 3 tall BM's, so I think I'm going to alternate their heights, or something, haven't decided yet, but I don't think you have to put them in order that way. Put them in whatever order YOU want!

Oh, I just posted about my similar situation on another thread!

Yep, I have two best girlfriends fighting over it. Only difference is one is outright being passive-agressive and picky about it while the other is being supportive and kind.

Guess who just lost her MOH rights? I can't figure out how I'll tell her though. Let me know if you figure out a good way and good luck... it's a really sticky spot to be in!

One thing that might work for you... you can make a co-MOH. I was going to, but I thinK FSIL had also hoped she might be MOH. So then I felt like I'd be letting down yet another person.

you can order them however you see fit You can also have 2 MOHs, then just have your little sister stand closest to you I have 2 (biological) sisters, so I made one maid of honor and one matron of honor, however, my program didn't specify, it just simply said "attendants" and listed them in order...of course I was 29 when I got married and so it didn't seem as important as it did when I remember at your age speculating who would be in my party...mine changed DRASTICALLY by the time I finally got married

So, Im not engaged..yet ..but my two best friends are already (playfully) bickering over who will be my MOH. One Ive know a year and a half longer, but she is the jealous (somewhat selfish) type. She is in my sorority and we graduated at the same time. I want her to be a bridesmaid. My other friend is my lil sister in my sorority, and she is very level headed and giving. She is a senior in college. I feel like my lil sister would be better as my MOH because she is much more responsible and willing to do anything for me. But the other friend disagrees and thinks I should pick her even though I have told her I want my lil sis because she is more responsible, loyal, etc etc.

Has anyone else had to deal with this? How do you resolve this issue?

Oh and one more question, do you have to have your bridesmaids in order, like shorter to taller or taller to shorter? Someone told me that once and I wasnt sure. Thanks bees!

I was having issues finding gowns that I wanted my girls to wear that were not 4 or 5 hundred dollars each. I have very expensive taste with a limited budget. We will be getting married in a castle and the theme is Victorian.

I have decide to make the gowns for my girls from a Jessica McClintock pattern. The pattern number is 3878 and I have chosen to do the gowns in the color celedon.

Could you ask her to be your personal attendant? In the midwest - or at least where I'm from - usually the bride has a personal attendant who is a close friend and there to help out with little stuff. Sort of like a DOC but your friend. She's there in the morning to help you get ready and hang out, calm you down and just help with whatever needs doing. She is usually recognized in the program, wears a corsage but her own dress etc.
