I forgot to add that the florist had me come in for the consultation and only told me AFTERWARDS that they don't accept credit cards! We are trying to use them as much as possible for the miles then pay them off right away as we usually do so it's not that big a deal but I just thought a) it's weird that they don't take credit cards; and b) that it was a purposeful "oversight" on her part not telling me about that, to get me in for the consultation knowing that most people might be deterred about that.

@littlebridetobe: I'd be interested in renting these for December 7, 2012. I would need 15 of them. I live on long island however, so I guess it would be quite a road trip for me and the fiance, but it might be worth it seeing how expensive these are to rent around here!! Please let me know if they would be available.

Everyone who has had bad experiences, I hope you write negative reviews on Yelp or Bridal review sites because the consequence of a florist (or ANY vendor) being rude to a customer should be a bad reputation and decreased business!

I had a Pretty Woman experience with my flowers. I had contacted a Philadelphia company and showed them a picture of flowers from a lavish wedding, but expressly said, I don't want the size of these centerpieces, nor the same quality, just the effect of different flower centerpieces on different tables.

They came back and said I had a great taste but the flowers I was looking at, in particular the French Tulips, would be $400, and that baby's breath would be $250.00 per table and that with my budget (around $4000 max) they could only accomodate my personal flower order.

I found it so ridiculous I've been turned off to the whole experience completely. And my wedding is four months away. Luckily there is a Russian florist around here and we might be able to get some bang for our buck since the owner knows some of my in-laws.

My first experience was a rude one.. and the second person I went to was wonderful, but had a $2,000 minimum service charge!! ACK! And she never told us that in the first place... still on the hunt and running out of time :/

In order to create a larger floral arrangement on the top you can use the bouquet handles with a foam ball on top. These are also available on Save-on-crafts. They are the same as used for the plume arrangements.

you certainly have a lot of things on your plate right now and relatives causing trouble does not help!

but one thing, why couldn't you get the ok for the church yourself?

the rest is just ridiculous behaviour on your mother's and aunt's parts, sending you best wishes and congratulations on your pregnancy :)

@nicolejoshwed: Awww girl I'm so sorry you're going through this garbage! Sometimes the people that we would expect to be our biggest supporters, cause the most trouble and heartache for us. In all of this, you just need to remember a few things: This day is about you and your FI, not your mom, your aunt, or anyone else that feels that you should satisfy them.

I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job planning! Don't let her get you down about the things that she thinks you're doing wrong. Do it the way you want to. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to be a part of it.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm sure that the added stresses of carrying a baby and planning the last bits of your wedding aren't helping. You have to try to stay as stress-free as possible, because, as I'm sure you know, your baby feels any stress that you're feeling.

Sending positive thoughts and energy your way *hugs*
