Nothing is for sure yet but I'm considering dark purple with platinum (grey) and maybe some shade of blue.  I'm still looking and hope to build an inspiration board soon.

My official colors are various shades of dark, rich purple.  March in Portland, while technically Spring, is more wintry and probably rainy.  To add some "Springy" feeling to it, the flowers will be purple, light pink, dark pink, orange and peach tulips, white calla lilies and something yet undecided in a spring green color.

yea im with melissa .. i think im going to use my spice with some browns and pop my boquets with some bright green.. i cant wait ..

I love the second print! It looks almost grey on my screen. I love the combo of blue/grey and would do it for my wedding but I think my mom would flip... she is already unhappy that I picked an "ungirly" color for the base! Hopefully the soft pinks and ivories will satisfy her. :)

Hey, its your wedding, you can have/use as many or as few colors as you want! We're using navy blue too, but with ivory and white accents as well as hints of red and green (think nautical theme meets beach theme meets nature theme...).   here are some collages I found mostly on weddingistas.com blog. The two fabric swatches were found...somewhere. i can't remember! These are things I like to keep for inspiration!

Oh wow, I never thought of having TWO base colors - so maybe I can do navy dresses and taupe tableclothes? With accents of pink and ivory? That sounds really good, actually! And I will definitely check out the home depot paint thing. Thank you!!

I think it is fine to have TWO base colors. Imo, I think it looks best if the BM dresses are one base color and the tablecloths are another. If they are the same the girls can look like they are a part of the tablecloth during dinner. My BM dresses were navy with lime sashes and champagne pashminas; flowers where cream/white (more in mine), varying shades of pink (more in the BMs), and a few lime lime green all tied with champagne ribbons; tablecloths were champagne with white candles and cream roses. My dress was blush so the bringing in the pinks looked just fine. You can use several colors you just have to watch the amounts you use them in. Take a few deep breathes, clear your mind, then close your eyes and picture standing up in church and being at the reception, what are the first colors you see and what are they on? Write it down so you don't forget. You can go to Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot and pick up paint color papers (get several of each color) and you can cut some of them up in different sizes to see "how much" of each you like in a palette. Bees, I need your help! I'm agonizing over my colors (typical) and am in need of some inspiration. I originally wanted navy blue to be my base color with blush pink accents. Then I started falling in love with really soft, romantic colors like ivory, blush pink, and taupe. Now I'm wondering if I can somehow use the latter palette with touches of navy here and there. I'm thinking taupe BM dresses, ivory/pink bouquets with navy ribbon wrapped around the stems, a lighter taupe for tableclothes with maybe navy or pink napkins...? I think I'm color challenged so I have no idea if all that will actually look good or not!!

i've seen dresses in that color before - they also had a couple mocha/browns in there.  The paper goods and decor didn't have to be matchy matchy, b/c it's a rich fall color.  Don't get bent out of shape about it - it'll work out.
