I am just starting to try other inks now, but am not ready to recommend for sure. I will let you know how I do. My current trial ink is water based, so you can easily wash the screens and save them for later use. Of course this doesn't work for certain crafts, ie my wedding coasters or napkins because you want the inks to be waterproof, which makes Riso ink better. It is a thick ink, so I like that, haven't tried mixing colors or anything yet. Its called Heavy Body Acrylic by Liquitex. I buy it at Dick Blick. here is the link...

http://www.dickblick.com/products/liquitex-heavy-body-acrylics-2-oz-tubes/

Ill keep you posted on my ink trials.

Any finds on a good ink alternative??? I know there are lots, but I just wanted to know if anyone has had better luck with one kind over another...

I don't really get what the whole Gocco thing means, but this sounds like a pretty handy tip for all the DIY'ers out there. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Hi All,

I thought I would share my latest and greatest Gocco advancement for those who love their gocco but can no longer find supplies. I recently found a thermofax which is basically an old school thermal copier. Anyways, it can expose the thermal screen without the bulbs. Then you can just double side tape the screen to the original frames, (or make your own frame out of cardboard), and Viola! You have a perfect screen. I have found that it burns the screens much more evenly and doesnt leave blotchy or spotty parts like I used to get with the flas bulbs! Anyways if you are interested in this contact me and I can tell you more. I could even have you send artwork to me and burn the screens and send them to you.... just in case you love your gocco but don't love paying the ridiculous price people charge for supplies these days. Happy Goccoing!

Rachael
