I don't think tables or chairs are going to matter as much to you down the road as the memories you'll make on an amazing honeymoon!

Ok, we've decided that instead of spending more money on our wedding, we will put that money towards our honeymoon. We are actually way under budget, which is great. I was thinking of using the leftover money to make some upgrades to our reception (chairs, longer tablecloths, etc.) But instead, Fiance and I have decided to use that money towards a nicer honeymoon. Originally, we were thinking of going somewhere cheap (maybe Mexico) and now we are thinking of going to Europe.

Do you guys think we will regret this? Should I just put the money towards something wedding related? I'm not having the most glamorous wedding, so I know I can easily put that money towards making it super nice. But is it really worth it? Any thoughts on this?

I am thinking of either uplighting the pillars or wrapping them in some kind of gossamer or fabric.

I think uplighting would really tie in your colors well!

Honest truth though? Once the room is filled with people, food and drinks...it will look a lot different. No one will notice the things that are probably driving you crazy right now.

Oh, those are pretty! :) I really think you are all set! Add your green runner and your two different styles to the tables and you will be good to go. You could add gossamer and/or maybe some Christmas lights?

Here is the photo from Kayla Way's wedding. I was going to suggest something like this but with green tissue poms (or green floral poms) But I think what you have chosen is nice!

How about uplighting the pillars.

I also think the place would be well suited to take a starcloth, but it might be quite pricey. Or perhaps twinkle lights (aka pea lights)

Ideas: Star cloth, Twinkle lights, Uplighters

@paigers91: I dont like the fact that it looks old and plain. And I will for sure NOT have the buffet table outside. lol. But we will be putting some high cocktail tables outside for those that want to get some fresh air.

@creativeplannertobee: I agree, I will not have any chair covers. Thanks for the picture. I really like the table decor. Since we already ordered white napkins, I was thinking of adding a green runner.

@Ms Rocky Point: Like I said, I think it looks old =(. I really like the lanterns too =) We will be putting those outside. My mom didnt like the idea of having them inside. I was thinking of adding some gossamer to the ceiling.

Half of the tables will have these centerpieces (with purple flowers rather than blue)

And the other half will have short centerpieces. Here is a picture of the base (flowers are missing). We are doing our own centerpieces:

@Miss Tattoo: Hooray for swing dancing!

I guess some off-beat things we're doing are:

Having a bridesmaid wear a tux

Girls are not wearing the same dress (I know it's not that off-beat, but it definitely is for my ridiculously conservative family)

Not having a ceremony in a religious building (only because churches around here are like, 1000+ to get married in. I didn't think the Big Guy worked that way...)

My brother is walking me down the aisle. Again, not that off-beat, but is for my family.

No garter toss/bouquet toss

Great thread! I love seeing everyone's ideas!
