We've toyed with the idea. Our ring bearer is my nephew who will be 2 and a half. Not really the responsible age yet. But he will be walking with the flower girl, my 5 year old niece. I've seen so many cheap rings out there, seriously we could get 2 for like 10 bucks. But I also feel like that's no fun. And as long as the rings are attached securely to whatever the little man is carrying, it should go alright. I will definitely have someone give it to him right before he starts to walk and then he'll only go up the aisle. I've heard of people doing it too, but there doesn't seem to be much point from where I stand, except for maybe pictures, in which case a ring proxy might make sense.
