You have to go to the main post office in your city for hand cancelling otherwise they will still go thru the&nbsp; machines. In New York, its the one on 8th Ave and 30th st. I first went to the Grand Central Post Office near my office and they said that if I did it there, there was still a risk of them going through the machine at the main post office. When I went to the main post office they were (surprisingly) more than happy to do it and even excited about the invites BUT it was only free for the first 50 invites. I mailed out 160 and the difference only cost me $5. Did you pay for the hand canceling at all? In theory you could go back and ask for a refund just to make a point... I'm so sorry they didn't come through for you on this. If its not too late try to find out where the main post office is in your area and hopefully you will find a sympathetic worker... I came armed for battle but was plesantly surprised. Not just being a little bent but crinkled and everything very obviously.&nbsp;</p> <p>Apparently, other hive workers have been told the same thing. So I just happily sent them on their way and didn't care if the envelopes got marked on. Tomorrow will be day 3. I requested hand cancellation and the were more than happy to do it for me. They also told me they would still go through the machines.</p> <p>An invitation arrived and a bridesmaid took a picture of the envelope and invitation for me. The envelope was pretty beat up, but the invitation (pocketfold) held up alright.......Still, it's not ideal of course. </p> <p>Have you heard of them going through the machines anyway? Two people at two different post offices told me this.&nbsp; </p>
