I had the same issue as you did.

I brought my 12x12 to Office Maw, they cut all the sheets on a 12x6 so I could fit it in my printer; it cost me less than 2$ to have them do that. You can also go to Staples, Office Depot, etc.

No I do advise getting some legal paper and hand cutting it to a 6x12. It takes a few trying and adjusting steps to get what you want printed exactly where you want it.

Do keep in mind that your printer almost always has a margin. I'm assuming since it's your programs that you won"t have anything too close to the edge. I printed my invitations through photoshop and asked for no margin, there still was a 5mm one. Just so you know.

I'm so glad I printed things in greyscakle and on my cut legal paper first for that. I avoided using the nice paper for nothing that way.

Buy the 12x12 and cut them to 6x6 and then run the 6x6s through the printer.

my programs are going to be 6x6, so i figured 12x12 paper would be the best.

do you recommend buying regular-sized cardstock, 8.5x11 and just cutting it down to 6x6?

or maybe someone has a template for 8.5x5.5 programs?

Unless you have a printer with more than an 11-inch platen, yes. You can buy a printer that will print 12-inch and larger (I have several friends who are photographers or who are really dedicated scrap-bookers, and they all have printers that do up to 15 inches. If you're going to print that size a lot, it's a reasonable investment.

i have a nice laser printer, but i don't think 12x12 paper will fit.

do people just take their stuff to a printers if it's on 12x12??
