Bearbride- that's definitely creative lol, but it might take a while to smoke enough cigarettes to get it to the right color. haha. That, and i'm allergic to cigarette smoke.

AOEBuckeye- Thanks for the input!! I just need to find a good seamstress in my area now.

my coworker said that she dyed her veil by hanging it the basement of her house, and smoking cigarettes with her fiance.. gross!!! seriously i had a very similar problem, because my dress is a pale grey. i ended up buying a swatch sample set from veilshop and got the oyster color veil..

Tea dying does work well! I had it done, to my mother's white vintage veil. My seamstress did it, and very quickly too. She matched the exact shade of my dress (which is just a shade off of white, like most ivories). I'm not sure of the exact cost of just tea dying it, but having my mother's veil modernized from a Juliet cap to a comb and tea dying it was like $30.

My advice would be get it tea dyed. It's cheap, quick, and makes the veil not stand out like a sore thumb (even if only you notice it!)

I don't think anyone will notice unless yuor dress is really more of a darker champagne color than ivory.

For your own sanity, though, how about trying both on at the same time, and taking a picture to see if you can really tell the difference or not?

PinkyJules- I can't exchange the veil, and Occansy.com (where I got my veil) is actually 5 dollars cheaper than Veilshop.com

Can you exchange your veil?

Do you have both the dress and veil yet so you can actually see them together to see how it looks?

I think your best bet is veilshop.com to get a new one.

December- does tea really work? Do you know anyone who has tried? I am definitely going to ask my seamstress if she can do it, if not... i'm going to put it on the line and attempt the tea dying.

Niki- I spent about 50 for my veil online since it's cathedral length... i don't want to spend another 50 if i don't have to. So we'll see.

Veils online are really cheap, can you just buy a new one? My seamstress made me on for $35 and it looked just like the ones in the bridal shops.

I would get it dyed. I recently saw a bride with a gorgeous ivory dress and gorgeous white veil, but they didn't match.

I had the same problem and when my seamstress saw me wear it with the dress, she told me she could dye it ivory to match. I really doubt it would really have shown up in the pictures, but since she was only charging me $5 to dye it, I got it down anyway. You should ask your seamstress if she has a similar service or find a store that can do it for you if it really bothers you.

I bought my veil without having my dress, or a sample of the swatch. So now i have a White Veil and an ivory dress, will this make a big difference in pictures? Will it be really obvious to people, or just me? Is there anything I can do?
