I think there is a crop function in Illustrator that will produce the crop marks for you.

Are you uploading Illustrator files to OvernightPrints? If so, make sure that you save your Illustrator files as version 8.0 or earlier. If you're using a new version, like CS3, you can choose to "Save As" an older file format. This *may* fix the problem you're having with the image not showing up. Good luck.

Hi sweetart - how about a local printer? There should be a nice, local printer that could help you with this. Your design is great, but I wouldn't leave it to overnightprints.com! Their color matching is not great, and trimming can be an issue. I am a graphic designer and know that working with a local printer, who you can meet an see face to face, is very valuable! Good luck - let me know if I can help!

Oh, and in a photo-editing software, you should see an option like "resize image" somewhere- that will usually tell you the dpi. As far as bleed marks, I thought overnight said that if you don't remove them they will print, but sounds like not:( I know what it's like to be in a rush like this, I hope it works. Why not go with kinkos?

The only reason I didn't go with overnight was because I heard color matching was tricky. Good luck! Definitely don't go with prints made easy though, not worth it

Thanks Kate! =)

I did read their FAQs and while they have specific rules, they didn't really answer my questions. And you're right....if the live chat CS rep couldn't answer my questions, I should be a little nervous! I guess I will keep looking for other print options unless someone in the hive has some suggestions!

Thanks again for bumping and replying!

Ok, I just went and looked at their site and I have to say that their FAQ's and guidelines are very specific. Did you read both? Also, when you say online help, so you mean their live chat feature? Because if they can't tell you that I would be nervous about them printing something for you. Good Luck.

Hello hive!

I've finished designing my invites and getting 2 sets of invitations out to my uncles back in the motherland! Now, I need to have the rest printed ASAP! I've given up on the gocco because I need some of the images to line up perfectly (see pic below). I've decided to use overnightprints.com after reading up on them here but I am at a loss as to how to get them the files!

I have no idea how if the images are at 300dpi or hot to get them there if they arent.

I have no idea how to get two of the inserts printed on 1 letter size page or if I should print them all on postcards instead. Either way, I'd need to trim them down which leads me to my other problem!

How do I get them printed with the trim marks! I used illustrator to create these and when I had them printed at kinkos, I created a pdf, increased the bleed, and included the trim marks so I'd know exactly where to cut them. Can that be done at overnight prints? When I upload them, they disappear and their online help has not been too helpful!

ANY advice and/or tips would be greatly appreciated! TIA!
