Have you tried wearing leggings under your gym shorts? I'm a bit taller (5'9" actually), but I have a lot of trouble finding pants that feel comfortable as well (and are long enough, probably your opposite problem, but I understand frustrations with lengths!). I have some capri-length leggings that I wear under my athletic shorts when I run and they're really comfortable for winter running!

I live in GA now (much warmer here I'm sure!), but it still gets down there in temps in the winter and my leggings keep me relatively warm. And they usually come in all lengths--capri, knee length, or full length, so I'm sure you could find some that are good for you and relatively inexpensive.

I know we often think of Victoria Secret as being just underwear and stuff, but they actaully make WONDERFUL clothes!! They don't sell their clothes in the stores, but you can order them online and they have a really helpful sizing chart on there too. They have a lot of yoga/fitness/legging-type clothes that are all really comfy--that's where I got my leggings from for under $20 and love them!

I bought a 6 when I normally wear a 2/4 and it fit perfectly. I went off the sizing chart. They seem to go by a different sizing system (Canadian?) so I'm glad I checked!

I agree w/ those who said Lululemon!! Yes it's expensive, but it's totally worth it. You'll feel HOT in your workout clothes, and that will make you want to work out all the time. Their clothes flatter every body type, I swear.

On a side note though... Lululemon gals, do you feel like you have to buy larger sizes than normal in order to fit into the Lululemon clothes? I grabbed clothes from the rack that were definitely my normal clothing size, and they wound up being TINY. (Like I almost ripped them getting in and out of them). I had to go at least a size or 2 up to find clothes that fit.

The thing I swear by (and most people I work out with in the winter) is to invest in some Under Armor pants and shirts. Then just put your summer ones on over the top so that you're not showing the world everything! Haha! There are several weights, so you'll have to decide how much you need to stay warm while you work out.

I'm short also and I don't like to spend alot. I got an awesome pair of Yoga Capri Pants. Usually workout pants are too long for me but since they are capris they work great. Also they are flared at the bottom so they don't stick to you. The waist of the pants are ones you can pull up and fold over, so you can wear them low or high without rolling them down. Hope this helps!

I prefer Nike workout stuff. I have some Adidas stuff I like as well. Both brands come with pants in different "fits" that you can find the style you like the best.
