I agree with the others on maybe needing height, something skinny so as not to block conversation. What would look great is color underneath, a bold punch of color to set off your lovely vases.

You can do this for very little money by buying large square fabric napkins, I find these on clearance at many stores. The square shape would look great with the round table! Good luck!

Yeah, I have a LOT of scrapbook paper that I have been collecting, maybe I will make like a book "wrap" type cover. So that the white still shows, but the colors are together. A little less "looking like a present". I'll try a few ideas and post up some new mock ups. Thanks!

Well my original thought was to "stand" the book open... but now that i think more about it yeah i guess it would be hard to keep the pages open ... and the book to be in good view from all angles that way... I do think that what you are thinking of leaning the book on the other books would definately work.

If you look at the picture i posted it seems as if those books have been sprayed white and the lace glued on ... you could do the same in your wedding colors if you had books you didnt want anymore this would be a great way to "recycle them" or perhaps search a yard sale or consigment store for books to use this way.

It would be a little pricier but if you wanted you could always cover the books with handmade book covers in the colors of your wedding

I dont know if I'd say you need anything more really...but table runner may pull it together a bit for a more completed look...if you wanted :) Otherwise i think the two flower arrangements and votives look really pretty. My fiance isn't huge on tall things on the table..actually is he completely adamant about keeping it low so people can see eachother across the table without obstruction. So...my vote is table runner! Good luck :D

I have thought about the books with ribbon around them, but haven't done a test just yet. I have three books, sealed shut and spray painted white to play with, so maybe I'll start there.

@ FutureMrs.Harless: I really like the damask print stack you found, I haven't seen that picture yet. Regarding the book with the number inside, how would you suggest I keep it open? I would think leaning the open book against a stack of others might keep it open to the table number, kinda like on a podium. Any other ideas?

OK this was just another crazy idea.... I cant find a picture but ... to incorporate your book theme and still have a table number....

What if you took one of your books opened it to the middle stood it up and created a page in the book that was the table number? Or perhaps you could use the same concept and include a picture.... or a quote as noted before. You could easily do this with scrapbook paper some ribbon and A printer or stamps or freehanded if you dare.

I'm voting for the books that are tied up with a blue or green ribbon! It's personal, unique & it would give you the height you want!

Btw: Your floral centerpieces are lovely :)

I love the idea of the books seems like it is very representive of the two of you.... what about stacking some of your favorite hard backs on each table and tieing a ribbon around them... or perhaps placing a candle on top?
