I'm not picky about the flowers but that was the ONE thing I wanted - a bouquet of peonies just for me - not the rest of the wedding. They're usually more expensive than regular roses, but much less than peonies. Usually when folks have small budgets, they have a small guest list. But, I totally understand not wanting to make your guest list smaller. I do think that you will get some $$ from your guests as wedding gifts, so going over budget by $2 or $3K would be safe.</p> <p>As for the flowers, I just don't think you have room for them in your budget. If they are important for your mom, then I think you have to ask her to fund them.</p> <p>You couldread what some of the bees did about finding vendors in craigslist. Those flowers (like the ones in the last pic) are roses?!?</p> <p><em><a href="../../../profile/crebre80"></a></em></p> http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/feeling-a-little-blue-about-my-budget-need-some-hive-reassurance/page/2#post-476006 Tue, 17 Nov 2009 08:23:56 +0000 Brianalaura 476006@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ <p>I was too lazy to read through every single one of these so I'm sorry if I repeat anything!&nbsp; We're having an outdoor wedding so some of our savers wouldn't help you.&nbsp; We're on a $15k CAD budget (minus honeymoon for us too!).&nbsp; Here are some of the things we've done:</p> <p>1) Bought out outfits/jewellery from non-wedding stores (his suit from H&amp;M, my dress from BCBG, my necklace from RW &amp; Co. for $12)</p> <p>2) Bought things from ebay/etsy (my veil was only $23)</p> <p>3) Using some 'friendors' (friend that does graphic design on the side is doing our invites on the cheap)</p> <p>4) Asked around; a girl at my fiance's work suggested our photographer who does it part-time, he's only charging $700 for all day photography, travel charges, a hardcover printed photobook, full unlocked and edited pictures, and a 11X17 framed picture</p> <p>5) Non-floral centrepieces; we are having potted herbs which are pretty and practical!&nbsp; I'm thinking of growing them but we may buy the plants from the farmers' market.</p> <p>6) Asked for giftcards to places for gifts; we got a $50 ikea giftcard as a present&nbsp;that bought our centrepiece containers, fabric for our DIY photobooth and paper napkins for our cocktail hour</p> <p>7) Think outside of the box!&nbsp; But I know I don't have to tell you this one :-)</p> <p>Another thing you could do is borrow from friends or family; for example a lot of people wear a relative's/friend's veil or jewellery for example.&nbsp; Or recently I've seen a lot of people use family vases etc. for decor.&nbsp; You never know until you ask!</p> http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/feeling-a-little-blue-about-my-budget-need-some-hive-reassurance/page/2#post-475969 Tue, 17 Nov 2009 08:02:54 +0000 pmerr 475969@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ <p>That's what my budget is &amp; I have about twice as many people!!</p> <p>I didn't read all of these-but I agree with what I saw-use ebay, look for coupons, go to garage sales-anything like that.</p> <p>We're also getting married in the church I grew up going to &amp; member's don't need to pay for rental.
