One thing I always noticed when I used the gold Chivari's they always seemed to be the ones that didn't hold up as well so they were the ones that sometimes had to be changed out for chairs without chips. Depending on who your planner/coordinator is if they're not on top of this it can be a bit overwhelming. You have to be there when the chairs arrive and look them over for chips and nicks, I always did this because they're soooo expensive to rent and I felt they should look presentable and made the delivery guys change them out if they were chipped in more noticeable areas. As far as the price point goes why pay for chivari's if you're not going to see them, they're not the most comfy chair and to me you're paying for the look of it. I'd say if you are going to cover them go with the bottom only (as that can be the part that gets chipped easiest).
