Earlier in the relationship one of our friends had just started dating someone for about a week and posted on Facebook "I LOVE <so and so>" We laughed about it and then talked about how freely people use that word without taking into consideration the meaning behind it. The fiance said "When you know, you know. It doesn't need to be said every 5 minutes." I thought that was so sweet, so we just never said it. We both felt it though and that was actually more romantic than gushing about it all the time. Since then we say we love each other, but whenever we say it we know there is special meaning behind it. The little "Love you!" walking out the door makes me smile every time. Or something like that.  I was totally smitten with him, but totally trying to play it cool.  So we get to the movie and during the commercials before the previews he heads to the restroom.  I quickly pull out my phone to text the friend that had set us up.  The text read, "He used the marriage hypothetical again.  It was awesome.  He's awesome.  I'm in love for sure."  (I saved the text on my phone, cuz it's cute) Instead of sending it to my friend though, I accidentally sent it to him and realized it milliseconds after hitting send.  He walked back into the theater and sat next to me like nothing had happened.  He totally played it cool.  It was a few weeks later (January 10th 2008) when he returned it.  We were at a party and I was sitting with him when he said, "Have I told you I love you?"  I said no, and he said, "Well I do."  I said, "I love you too."  He said, "I know, you already told me that."  The rest as they say is history.  missmouse29 on "How did you guys say "I Love You" for the first time?" http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-did-you-guys-say-i-love-you-for-the-first-time/page/2#post-1014666 Fri, 04 Jun 2010 09:51:38 +0000 missmouse29 1014666@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ I won't go into details, as most are either inappropriate for interwebz or due to the folly of youth. It came down to this: "M, don't kiss girls okay, because when you care about someone you don't go around kissing girls. My first I love you with the boy was also a drunk one like a few others. We'd been unofficially dating for about two weeks when we went up to my Alma Mater for the big PSU v OSU game. The first time he was meeting my friends...all of my friends, all at once, all drunk. After a few rounds of drinks my best friend K says, "So are you girlfriend, boyfriend yet?" ....umm awkward. Upon finding out the negative my friend says the best thing ever: "MATTIE!! You need to shit or get off the pot!" So he asked me the few minutes later and we all drank a little more. Ok a good bit. Ok fine, I can't lie to you. We had jello shots  and I may or may not have shown off my dance arm failing skilz. Anyway a portion of the evening is lost to me but the next thing I remember is standing in line at Canyon Pizza (as in Mrs. Humburger's Canyon Pizza) and he was telling me "I love you." And I kept saying, "No, you can't tell me that now." And he was like, "why not?" "Because you're drunk....and I'm drunk and I don't beleive you." He insists that "it's true, I loooooove you." So I said, "Ok, so tell me in the morning when you're sober." We exchanged I love you's the next morning while everyone was getting ready for tailgating. I like to make fun of him for it sometimes and he once said, "Yeah...I think I knew that I loved you then, but I don't think I wanted to say it. I wanted to wait longer." We were both Resident Assistants at our college and were at school for training.  Our boss asked us to go do something for him, and as we were leaving we just were talking and ended up standing out by the curb... where the dumpster was conveniently located.... yeah. Anyway, he looked at me and said, "You know... I love you."  And I melted.  I somehow managed to squeak I love you back.  And then we kissed for the first time.  Ahh... first time a boy said I love you and my first ever kiss.  Bliss!!!! With that said we had been dating for almost an entire year (and liked eachother for probably another year) when we finally said it! I had gone on vacation to Disney with my family, while he stayed home (he was invited but couldn't take a whole week off of work). We both were missing eachother like crazy. I'd gone on 2 other vacation while we were together but this time was different for both of us. Though I was having fun on the trip, we couldn't wait til I got home so we could spend time together. I got home on a Friday night and immediately went to his house where we had dinner and started watching the movie Music and Lyrics (a favorite of ours). We were being super cuddly and at two different points he would start to say something to me and then would stop. Finally he said..."I have to tell you something" and whispered in my ear that he loved me. I can still remember feeling super warm inside and not being able to stop smiling. We talked that night like we always had, about the next day's plans. I went to bed that night without saying it. The next day, we had our date and I was driving back when I pulled over at a gas station and texted him "I love you" He then turned around and came after me. When he arrived at the gas station, he jumped out of his truck and grabbed me....and gave me a big kiss and then said "I love you". I know it's cheesy! but it has lead to A LOT more I Love you's!
