http://boards.weddingbee.com/ Weddingbee Boards Topic: How did you guys say "I Love You" for the first time? en Mon, 23 Nov 2009 06:04:20 +0000 http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-did-you-guys-say-i-love-you-for-the-first-time#post-258897 Mon, 13 Jul 2009 23:59:08 +0000 kurlynut 258897@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>@HAwaii I can totally relate with a drunken I &nbsp;love you.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;The very first time my FI told me he loved me was a December night in 2006.&nbsp; We had met in June of '06 in Italy and he was on deployment.&nbsp; We had spent a lot of time communicating through email and on the phone when he was on land.&nbsp; At one point through our communication, he said something that I hold so close to my heart till today.&nbsp; He said I hope that I fall in love with you because you have changed my world upside down.&nbsp; The sentiment and warmth behind that just made me melt.</p> <p>Anyways, we made plans for him to come out to visit me in January since I was in CA and he was in CT.&nbsp; Well, he was out one night in Dec, he&nbsp;got a little wasted.&nbsp; He doesn't drunk often so I was worried and he was calling me every hour just to day hello.&nbsp; So I started to hear him slur more andmore with each phone call.&nbsp; As his friend was driving him home,&nbsp;he called me and said I have to tell you something very importnat.&nbsp; He began to say Kurly, I love you.&nbsp; You mean the world to me.&nbsp; I told him to be quiet and that he didn't know what he was saying that he was drunk.&nbsp; In his drunken state, he was ok ok I'm sorry.&nbsp; I won't say it anymore.&nbsp; Then 2 minutes later, again with the I love yous.&nbsp; This went on his entire hour long drive home.&nbsp;</p> <p>Him: I love you <br />Me:be quiet<br />Him ok, I'm sorry...2 minutes later I love you, I really do<br />and allover again.&nbsp; (LOL)</p> <p>We spoke of it the next day and he apologized.&nbsp;I think we were both a little embarrassed.&nbsp; After he came out to visit me, we realized that we truly had something very unique.&nbsp; We were both very touchy on saying the I love you's again since the first drunk experience.&nbsp;&nbsp;One night in March he opened up and told me he loved me and how he had waited for someone like me to come into his life.&nbsp; I felt so bad because my first&nbsp;reaction was, &quot;Are you drunk?&quot;&nbsp; To this day, we laugh about that.&nbsp; You have to admit it was pretty funny.&nbsp;</p> http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-did-you-guys-say-i-love-you-for-the-first-time#post-258827 Mon, 13 Jul 2009 22:38:51 +0000 cbgg 258827@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ <p>@Jessie516 - BA HA HA!&nbsp; Fabulous response.&nbsp; Love it. </p> http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-did-you-guys-say-i-love-you-for-the-first-time#post-251329 Tue, 07 Jul 2009 17:18:44 +0000 Samisomsam 251329@http://boards.weddingbee.com/ <p>These are all so sweet!! I was kind of in shock and said &quot;you love me?&quot; I imagine he probably laughed&nbsp;and said &quot;yes I love you.&quot; I couldn't really say anything after that, I wa speechless. After we'd been dating for a few months I told my fiance I loved him.&nbsp;We'd been out that evening with friends and one of his friends told us his parents were getting divorced. I remember my fiance just looking so concerned and upset for his friend. At that moment I really knew what a wonderful person he was and that I loved him so later that night I told him and he didn't say it back.&nbsp;Then MONTHS went by.&nbsp;Months and months and months.&nbsp;We were having a great relationship otherwise. We got within a month of the year anniversary of our first date and I had enough waiting.&nbsp;I KNEW he loved me, I could tell and so could our friends but he was too afraid to figure it out and spit it out so I told him I couldn't stay with him any longer if he didn't love me at this point. We broke up. For 3 days. He mulled about the things I'd said to&nbsp;him about being afraid to get close to anyone. Next thing I know he's on my couch, fumbling for words and finally spits out that he loves me and he doesn't want to break up. I was so happy because I didn't want to lose him either! We were on the Spirit of Philadelphia having such a great time with my family that it just felt like the perfect time to say it, so I did. He did say it back but he was a little disappointed. According to him, he had the perfect date picked out that he was going to say it and I jumped the gun. Whoops. <img src="/my-plugins/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/icon_wink.gif" /></p> <p>I believe he was going to wait until our anniversary or my birthday but that would have been too long to wait since it was the summer and both those days wouldn't come until October or December. Anyway, I told him that this wasn't something that I planned. I really can't remember.... I will hopefully find out one day (if he tells me a story and it is in it, I love bedtime stories!), but I don't want to ask because he'll just tease me haha. I'm so bad at remembering stuff, I never know how long we've been together and details like that. I do remember that we were maybe 1.5 or 2 months in, and I waited until he said it first, I think we were just cuddled up or something. I could kind of tell he wanted to say it there, but it was so loud and the idea of saying it for the first time in a bar/resturant wasn't the most romantic (as he told me later).</p> <p>Later on that night we went to his brothers house to hang out. All night he was being very sweet and coming over to kiss me on the forehead and kept smiling. On our way back to his house he kept saying &quot;I need to talk to you when we get home, it's really important&quot; well the first thing that came to my mind is it was going to be something bad...sadly! I started to get nervous and a little upset because I couldn't really figure out what was going on. I kept thinking to myself, he can't be breaking up with me, after everything tonight!</p> <p>Whenever we got home we went into the bedroom and he asked me to sit down so he could talk to me, he started asking how I felt about him and then all of a sudden he got really quite and then says &quot;I love you so much! You have no idea!&quot; </p> <p>Aww...how cute!! :) There isn't a day that goes by that we don't say it now. Random texts saying it as well. He's sooo cute! </p>
