Weebs, you are totally right...purple and yellow do look Laker-ish!!! I don't want my wedding to be a post season celebration..Although my family would love it!! haha

I looove purple, I'm using green (light and dark) to go with my Plum, Eggplant. I love how it looks with yellow too <img src="/my-plugins/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/icon_biggrin.gif" />

I live in Southern California myself and whenever I think of purple and yellow, I think of the Lakers' colors.

Dark purple will look good with either lighter shades of purple or pink, dark red or blue, and yellow. =) Basically, you want to look for either colours similar to purple, or colours opposite purple. If you're looking at doing three or more colours, I would suggest either choosing one colour close to purple (maybe a lilac) and one colour opposite it (yellow) if you want drama/pop, or choosing two colours closer to it if you want a more subdued, elegant feel. <a href="http://www.brides.com/">http://www.brides.com</a> actually has a colour wheel feature that you can select a main colour with (dark purple) and play around with different colour combos. =) It's really fun.

My colors are going to be purple (plum), olive green, and chocolate brown with gold accents.  It is in the winter so I wanted rich colors.  Also, I LOVE the purple and orange.  very unique, it would be great for a fall wedding.  Wow, I am in love with that combo.

We had a dark purple and orange wedding in May.&nbsp; It was gorgeous!
