I'm getting married in Islamorada in May. I'm using Floral Fantasy for flowers and Islamorada Bakery for the cake ("Bobs Bunz"). FF wasn't too bad with prices, but I feel like my cake is a bit expensive (although I don't know the going rate for cakes these days). For cheaper cake options, I actually heard the Publix in Key Largo does a really nice job!

If you're looking for vendors, I would check out the Islamorada chamber of commerce site which lists most of the vendors that were recommended to me: http://www.islamoradachamber.com/. Just click on wedding. Hope this helps!

I hope all those planning weddings in Islamorada have actually visited them first. Websites have a tendency to make things look much nicer than they really are. We took a long weekend to vist some places my daughter was considering and am so glad we did. We drove right in and right out of her top choice as it was a mess.

Chica Lodge was a favorite and would have been the place if she'd kept her original DW plan. Wonderful!!

Pierre's Restaurant & Morada Bay were also fabulous!

I'm getting married in Islamorada at the end of March. We are using Floral Fantasy, and I found their prices to be reasonable. I won't say they are a great steal or anything, but around what you would expect to pay anywhere.

@May B~The off-season down here in the Keys begins just after Labor Day and runs until President's Day (with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). The temperatures are usually in the low 80s...it's been unseasonably hot this year though! The one thing I will say about the rain, is that you should always have a plan B in place, but you likely won't know if you have to activate it until about 1 hour prior. As they say, "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes"!

High season is March through May...this is when you can expect prices and hotel rates to be the highest. I know a few great event planners down here and I would be happy to give you their contact info to assist in finding a venue that allows outdoor catering. PM me if you would like their info.

Anyone been to the Albertson's floral department in Key West? The bids I'm getting from traditional florists are so outrageous!

Thanks!

Hey everyone!

I am new to wedding bee and just recently got engaged. Me and fiance planning to have wedding in islamorada next year (maybe during May?). What is the off season there where the weather is nice and lower chance of raining ( I know you can't predict Florida rain sometimes !). Would love to know what vendors are recommended down there. Also is it even possible to find a reception site where we can have outside caterers down there? My fiance really loves samosas and indian food and wanted to incorporate some of that cuisine into our wedding.

Any help would be soooo great! I'm swimming in internet sites!

We've actually decided to go with the Hyatt. Their inside space for the reception is beautiful and unique. Plus we don't have to pay and rent a lot of extras that were being tacked on at the other locations like a tent, tent liner, cake, etc. It's a more complete package.

Where in Key West? We are going back and forth between West Palm Beach & Islamorada, but Key West is beautiful as well.
