I just wanted to say that I love this thread! My wedding is going to be butterfly themed and I love the idea of having a simple wedding cake with a cascade of butterflied. (In purple as well.) Please let me know or send any pics of what it might look like in all purple.

Beautiful cake!!! For those that already have your wedding, have extra left over etc. and no longer need for these butterflies and would like to sell them.  Please pm me with how many you have, color and price you asking =)  my zipcode 20121.  Need a lot used/new as long as they aren't rip/abused for my upcoming DIY wedding.  Thank you

<img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/94940/64675_1644323995050_1445375233_31769095_2774808_n.jpg" />        The Martha Sterwart cake was my original inspiration, and as I used this blog to give me some ideas for my butterfly wedding cake, I thought I'd share the end result from our wedding.  We loved our cake and although it took a lot of searching for and coordinating butterflies, it turned out exactly how I had envisioned it.        I got the beautiful painted feather butterflies from Floral Trims (They are GREAT to work with!  One of the staff spent over 30 min. on the phone with me trying to match colors as I was only looking for pink, orange and yellow butterflies.)  I used packs BF133 and BF706, because the look was perfect even if the colors were not EXACTLY what I wanted.  The butterflies looked great with my flowers and overall color palatte of the wedding.  They come wired and ready to go!  I could also easily return any unopened packages (I over ordered just in case). I highly recommend Floral Trims, they're the best!   (photo-Emma Freeman Photography)

I love the faux butterflies, but for anyone who insists that their butterflies be entirely edible cake - try rice paper!

omg..ladies this is the exact same cake i want for my wedding cake !!! with purple and white  butterflies and flowers...I am sooooo glad i googled purple butterflies this morning....lol...thank you ladies.....i seen this cake like 1 1/2 yrs ago and said this is going to be my cake. so now i'm getting married on the beach and i found my butterflies.....amen.
