Update: My "italian style chicken" wasn't newsworthy. It filled us, did it's job, but it wasn't exactly a meal I'd make to woo him in any way!

I agree, crockpot365 is AMAZING!! I basically put whatever I can find straight into the crock, but I don't usually cook ground beef. One day I put in some chicken breasts, cream of mushroom soup, condensed milk, and frozen veggies then some cooked noodles at the end with cheese on top, it was delish! Another incredibly easy meal is chicken with a jar of pasta sauce, you just let it cook all day and when you get home you can eat in on top of pasta or on a french roll. I'm convinced nothing can go wrong in the crockpot.

I used my crock pot ALL the time. I would recommend using the links above or buying a cookbook. If you are pressed for time, I love these:

http://wildtree.com/Products/List.aspx?ProductCategoryID=35

My friend sells them...YUM! On an unrelated note, we always get raves when we use their guacamole mix, too...we're such cheaters!

I would have to say that I LOVE BBQ from the crock-pot and so does FI (the notoriously picky eater). You get a mix packet from the grocery store (I think they are made by McCormick's) for slow cooker BBQ. All you need beyond that is a little vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, pork butt roast (3-4lbs) and something else I forgot but it has an ingredient list on the back of the package. Grab some hamburger buns, some chips and other side(s) including cole slaw if you like it and you're good to go. It's amazing!

Also, a personal favorite - crock pot chicken. Put a whole chicken in your crock pot with some garlic, italian seasoning, half a can of chicken broth, pinch of salt, pepper and lemon slices or lemon juice (just a little bit). Let it cook for 6 - 8 hours. This is especially good with mashed potatoes or potatoes cut into little pieces, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with garlic powder and italian seasoning and baked on 375 until brown (we called them herb potatoes) and then just add a veggie and a bread if you want and you're good to go.

These are both great meals for the fall/winter, especially if you work all day (inside or outside of the home) and/or are a student. They are things you can prepare the night before in the stoneware, put it in the fridge and pop it into the warmer in the morning and come home to a hot, home cooked meal! :)

Enjoy!

Bella

P.S. You might also check out the other McCormicks slow cooker seasoning packets - I bought one for beef stew that was pretty good too (I know they have others though and come out with new ones all the time).

I've got the crock pot going right now! It's called "Italian style chicken."

Recipe calls for Potatoes, chicken, and "spicy" italian dressing.

Layer chunks of potato and cover with a bit of the dressing.

Then add the chicken and more dressing.

I then also added mushrooms and onions.... so... we'll see in about 2 hrs! :-)

Oh, Cook on low for 4.5 hrs

If you want a wifey style meal, nothing beats pot roast! It also doesn't get a lot easier than this.

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Awesome-Slow-Cooker-Pot-Roast/Detail.aspx

Read the reviews & doctor the recipe to your specifications. I've made this before & I seasoned and seared the meat first on the stove & added onions & carrots to the slow cooker :)
