They have a small platform and a padded foot bed that makes it really cushy. I also always worry about shoes slipping off the back of my heels, but these have a nice heel cup and the anklestrap that provides a secure fit. The satin is very smooth and shiny. The bottom of the shoe is 100% leather. It's a great shoe. I can't say enough about how much I love them.
