I have photoshop CS3. If you are a student or educator you get a discount and you can get it for like $350.

I had to take a class in Photoshop to learn to use it properly. Otherwise it's incredibly overwhelming. But i LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I use Corel Paint Shop Pro and I love it. I have tried Adobe Photoshop but there was just too much going on in the program for me. I would suggest downloading the trail versions of different programs (usually 30 days) and see what you like best!

Before you buy any kind of Photoshop I recommend trying a similar free program. Gimp, for example, is free to download and it is VERY similar to Photoshop. I have used both and while they are set up differently, you can achieve the same effects using this program and it is FREE!

I think photoshop elements is a good (and cheap) place to start. It's a bit more basic and user friendly, but still pretty powerful.

I am trying to figure out which photoshop program to purchase to edit my photos. Which software do y'all recommend??? I am new to photography and wanting to buy a DSLR, but until I have the money to do that I want to go ahead and practice my photoshop skills.

Thanks in advance!
