Oranges, lemons and limes in water only work if you fill the whole container with water, otherwise the fruits float to the top. Trust me, we learned the hard way with my sister's arrangements. We wanted to do lemons at the bottom of a huge cylinder vase and a floating candle at the top and the lemons float to the top as well.

Of course if you figure out a creative way to make them sink, then problem solved. We couldn't think of one.

I love the look of fruit in piles or in containers with small white flowers tucked in the nooks.

Hello there! I love idea of using fruits!

While I did my centeripece with fruit slices, this could also be done using whole fruit, and I agree that this is a great way to save money, yet have a creative, unique and bold centerpiece! This added so much color to my wedding!

Here is a How-To guide on making these centerpieces, and a picture of my wedding centerpiece! Good luck!

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of this done, but my venue showed me a picture of this and it looked so pretty and fresh. They had those tall cylinder vases, filled with water and a mix of whole limes and lemons and sliced pieces (like in circles) of the limes and lemons. I thought it added a great punch of color and I bet it made the place smell nice and fresh too! Also, if you did want to add in some flowers, you could add just a few flower heads like gerber daisies into the water as well to add more color.

Sorry again I don't have a pic but just thought I'd let you know that I think it would be really pretty!

I'm trying to save money on flowers by using oranges as my centerpieces. My colors are orange, white and gray. I want to get different shaped glass containers/vases and fill them with oranges & water... maybe topped with floating candles too. Does anyone have any pictures of this done successfully? Any tips on how to make this work?

Thanks for the help!!!
