Have you considered calling your hotel and seeing if there are any shipping companies they recommend? Also, this will let you know how much you can ship ahead. Good luck!

We can't even ship to our location because the shipping methods are unreliable. Everything is going in suitcases with family members.

I would say just box it up and check it..It may cost extra for extra bags, but at lesst you know where your stuff is. And it may be cheaper that way too...

From all that I have heard and read most people end up packing their items in their suitcases due to how expensive it is to ship to the Caribbean. I am getting married in Belize in April and we are going to bring out items with us. We are hoping we can split some of the items up and send them with our friends and families.

Is anyone else finding that they need to purchase wedding decor/supplies and ship them to their destination? I already know I need to provide my own manzanita branches for my centerpieces (which are fragile & bulky but i love so much more than flowers!) and probably also chinese lanterns (at least these compress flat). This is in addition to supplies i'll need for welcome bags, etc. you get the idea- what's the best way to research shipping methods, etc? I'd rather reserve precious suitcase space for my own DW wardrobe of course;p

i was in the flower district in NYC and spoke to a garden-supply store who recommended I look into a cargo shipping company- apparently there are some in NYC that specialize in shipping to the Caribbean (my dw is in Turks & Caicos), so I was going to look into these...for some reason, I get the feeling these companies are probably a little shady though!

Thoughts?
