I think silver is gorgeous and could be a really unique but not over-the-top way to personalize your day. Go for it!

BTW, at Loehmann's I just got this Nicole Miller dress to wear to a fundraiser... $140 instead of the original $700 or so. It's so light and effortless, though, I'd definitely wear it if I were getting married on the beach.

I love the silver. if it goes with your skintone, I say go for it! My dress is a light gold and it definitely compliments my skin more than white. When is your wedding? I feel like richer colors are definitely appropriate for fall and winter weddings. Or an evening wedding in the city. It may look out of place in an outdoor wedding.

i love your idea of being non-traditional. i am always thinking of ways to make my day different from others and i think you have found a way to fit you. the only 2 things, i would do with this idea is make sure my bridesmaids dresses are a very deep color, like navy to make sure that your dress POPS in pics and have a fall or evening wedding (if you have not finalized your date/time). Good Luck!!

Silver is beautiful! Like a lot of previous posters, I think the shade will affect whether the dress looks super traditional, but I think they're all beautiful and appropriate. (I'll admit that I don't really see all-red dresses as particularly bridal. I think even the boldest silver dress looks elegant and bridal and really sweet.)

The dress I had tried on and fallen in love with was a light gold colour. But when it came to order it, I went for a diamond white dress believing I wanted to stay as close as possible to being "traditional." Lo and behold, I got thinking, looked at some pictures of real brides and realized I didn't care if I strayed a bit from tradition...the dress made me feel good about myself and the colour just matched my skin tone. Called the bridal shop and told them I wanted to change the colour and luckily it was only a week after purchasing it so they had no problems with the change.

My advice to you, go for what will make you happy and forget about what you think others will say.

I love the dresses you posted! I think that an ivory dress is typically considered to be white (or a traditional wedding dress color, anyway) nowadays. I think a silver dress would be considered less traditional, but still in the "wedding dress" category (as opposed to red or blue or whatnot). I personally have a gold (and ivory) dress, and I know that it stands out as being a bit different, but it is still obviously a wedding dress. I would group my dress and silver dresses in the same category as champagne dresses - they're still offered as wedding colors, definitely look like wedding dresses, but are certainly different than the traditional white.
