I can completely relate to this! I feel more nervous about parties than the wedding though, for some reason - maybe because the wedding is like this fantasy that doesn't seem like it will be real, while the engagement party / bridal shower / etc. is more tangible. But I am very nervous about being the center of attention! I'm glad I'm marrying someone who is very comfortable in the spotlight so he can take it over :)

I was nervous about this, too. But think back on all the weddings that you have been to. Sure, you will be the main focus of the day, but people will also be interacting with each other, eating, talking, laughing, enjoying themselves. When it comes down to it, you will be way to preoccupied with everything going on to feel nervous!!

I feel ya on that one. Just remember, you're in it with your guy. That helps me anyway- just to think that it's "our" day, not mine! He'll be there by your side if you get nervous, and when you walk down the aisle he'll be right in front of you.

Try not to worry. Your inviting family and friends that are important to you and that you love. Remember that everyone there cares about the two you. They are there to show their love and support.

Am I the ONLY one who feels overwhelmed throwing a party?! One, I hate being the center of attention, I am the kind of person that doesn't like to fuss and secondly, I think I would be more weirded out by the microscopic attention of everyone (especially half the people I wouldn't even know!)and feel less relaxed and tranquil. I just can't get rid of the feeling that "my day" would feel like "my intense scrutiny day." Am I wrong, weird, or just reverting back to my shy school girl years. Help! I need assurance to walk down the aisle and not barf on myself.
