Exfoliate when you're in the shower, then put it on when you get out and are still a little damp. It doesn't turn out orangy at all, just natural looking. I use the jergens body glow lotion and then get a airbrush tan. If you get an airbrush tan with only one coat it comes out very natural. I do them all the time and no one knows they are fake.
