We're doing a photobooth so the guest favors will be a fun picture of themselves. I figure everyone likes a photo of themselves! :)

@katrinab: Haha. Totally. We rock climb though, and I thought it would be a neat idea to give people caribiners for key chains.

Best: candy bar, truffles and a bag of personalized m&m's. I like candy!

Worst: personalized shot glass (no one I know truly drinks shots anymore)

@candykiss: I disagree. I kinda think that the thousands of dollars my FI and I have spent on the food and reception, and making sure our guests are comfortable and having a good time, makes it look like we thought of our guests. But that's just me.

Worst favor is no favor! Even if you don't like the candy or little knick knack, atleast the couple thought of you and wanted you to have something to remember them and their day by.

Best Favor: I've only been to a few weddings so I don't have much to go on but a box of chocolate rocks. Yummy!

For our wedding we are doing a French Romance theme so we have photo coaster sets that have the eiffel tower on them. Each set has two coasters, and everyone will get their own. We're alos having a photo booth so people will actually have pics they can put in it! Hoping that encourages people to keep them instead of tossing them or leaving them on the table.

We are giving " hangover" welcome bags...Advil, starbucks card, Gatorade, etc for our destination wedding. We are doing the Jordan almons because I'm Italian, and it's tradition....plus I hope to eat the leftovers -- I actually like them! We also have custom cigars for the guys and mini bottles of champagne for the ladies.

Finally, we donated a bunch oF books to the local hospital and children's hospital in honor of our guests, and plan on doing another batch.

Since it is a DW are going crazy on favors!!! Little treats every day!

I've received the wine bottle stopper that broke the first time I used it, the single white votive, and the glass coasters...while they were super cute, they totally shattered one by one by sticking to the bottom of the wet glass, then falling to our tile floor. But hands down, the worst was the edible favor! It was this custard donut roll thing, but it had spoiled from sitting out too long. One bite, and I almost threw up in my mouth a little....that sucked! And I bet they were expensive too!

Nothing as terrible as some of these, but the last two I got were:

Chocolate hearts. Now I ate one and it tasted like chalk. I worked at a gourmet chocolate shop for a number of years and have acquired a taste for really expensive, high quality chocolate. It's a pain when you just want something to satisfy the craving! Anyway, I thought my dislike for the favour was due to my tastebuds' prejudice, but my parter said the same thing. Apparently nobody liked it. Very cheap, nasty chocolate (the worst kind).

I went to a wedding where the bride was Chinese and her husband Australian. Their favour were red chopsticks with the wedding date on them. They were very high quality, and very beautiful, but I have NO idea what to do with them.

ETA: We aren't doing favours. Not a fan.

I have gotten a few bad one's over the years. The worst was a decorative key in a box. I have also gotten cheese spreaders, and a heart shaped sand photo clip. Sorry I just don't see the point in giving this stuff out. I just threw the stuff in a drawer, never used it and ended up throwing it away. I wanted to do a donation in leiu of favors for my wedding, but my mom insisted on a candy table instead......you usually cannot go wrong with edible favors.

I got a wooden hand painted magnet heart with the bride and groom's names and wedding date on it. (Not a relative, and there was no reason that I'd want it as a favor. It always made me wonder why they bothered. Most weddings in my area really don't do a lot of extra favors, and other than being given cookies, candy, or a floral centerpiece... It's not my thing... Last year we got a lighthouse too for a wedding no where near a beach, and it's junky. And they are neighbors so we have to put it on display...
