The Depo Provera shot for me. Well actually not at the moment lol but that is my usual pick for birth control. Lets see, I am 20 and got on the shot when I was 15-ish? Maybe a little younger. I hated having periods and so I loved the shot. Basically I didn't have any problems from it. I might have had some weight gain then lost it, but I attribute that more to my own doing plus my thyroid issues than anything despite what my friends who were on the shot said about them gaining weight on it.

But fast forward as to why I am not on it now. Well my FI has been wanting me to get off of it for a while, though I said "No way!" because I can't get pregnant before I am married or my parents will pretty much kill me. He really wants kids but I'm just like hold your horses until we get married lol. I decided that I wanted to take a break for a while though just because I hadn't had a period in so long and felt a little weird about that (despite the doctors saying it's fine) and wanted to see how I felt off of it incase it was affecting my mood/sex drive/etc without me realizing it so I decided to take a little break from it, this being 3 months ago and two periods later I am dying to get back on it! Lol Now I remember why I love it so much. Oh by the way, my fiance is also a SO who is on his 3rd deployment, this time to Afghanistan for a year, so I figured I wouldn't be needing BC anyways.

hubby and i use a number of um.... natural methods when it comes to twister. for a week or so after my periods its like woohoo twisterland at my house and then we are alot more careful and imaginative and its worked well for us so far... whats the worst that can happen right (yikes) :)

I've been having serious BC issues lately. I was on Alesse for like 8 years and I loved it, then they stopped making it and I had to start taking the generic. I know it's supposed to be the exact same thing but it made me CRAZY MOODY to the point where I had the hugest fight with my dad over the stupidest thing EVER and we have NEVER gotten into a fight before. It was awful. So I asked my doc to switch and she put me on Lo Estrin 24Fe. I loved it for awhile but after a month or two I noticed my sex drive plummet. I put up with it for almost 2 years and I'm at the point where it's ridiculous. I'd rather do almost anything than have sex, and this is SO not like me. And it's not related to my partner, either. I just don't care about it anymore at all, not even with myself (sorry, TMI!). So with the wedding approaching and the fact that I miss my sex drive so, so, sooo much, I asked my doc to switch me again. She put me on Yaz which I will start next week. I am going to write a separate post asking people their reviews on Yaz. I'm kind of nervous as I've heard it makes you more emotional and that's the last thing I need during the wedding!! My doc also warned me about breakthrough bleeding or extended periods of bleeding and said after 3 months of trying it she might switch me if I have that problem. I hate being on HBC and just want to go off it so bad but I really don't want to get pregnant, I like the decreased flow and cramps, and knowing when I'll be getting it. Ughh the woes of womanhood...

Aviane (generic brand of Alesse) ... it works so well.

I've been on it for 1.5years and no problems. No weight gain, no craziness, no BABIES :)

and it's sooo nice to avoid condoms..!

I've been on the pill for the past...8 years. I started with Ortho, and then switched to Ortho Low. I was on Ortho Low for a couple of years until I realized that I had HORRIBLE mood swings/PMS. The week before my period I'd always feel like crap, wanting to pick fights, or I'd want to cry for no reason. I was sooo miserable! I finally realized it was the pill after FI mentioned how crazy I acted the week before! :P So i finally switched to Balziva (generic for Ovcon) a couple years ago- and its been great! I've had no problems with it!

I've been on the pill for nearly four years. I was lucky in that the first pill I ever tried (Yasmin) has worked well for me- virtually no side effects. The only thing is that I think it has diminished my sex drive, but I'd rather have that than nausea, vomiting, etc.

I was on the pill two separate times in the past. The worst part was remembering to take it the same time every day. Right now, my fiance and I are using condoms. They work great for us. We are also at a point in our lives, where if we forget and have an oops pregnancy, we would not be upset. So far we've only had one instance that we didn't use one and no pregnancy. We want to start trying for a baby pretty soon after we are married so we don't see the sense in finding a different form of birth control.

Ha ha! That is fantastic 2d! I think you win for the most effective birthcontrol! And they say that abstinence is the only 100% method.... ;-)
