Ugh. I need some motivation to get this finance project done. I'm so pissed at my group. They're ignoring my emails and not doing their piece of the conclusion. They sent me the data but no explanation. The project isn't about being able to calculate that ratios, it's about being able to explain! I hate picking up the slack... :(

At the last few weddings I've been to, the bride and groom have stuck around at the hotel bar (or in one afternoon wedding, the bride's parents' place) and partied with the younger guests. The last couple getting married they were both 30 (like me and FI) so it's not just "really young couples."

FI and I don't think we'll be up for it. Our reception ends at midnight and we plan to have an "exit" with sparklers and a nice car. We're staying in the same hotel as everyone though, so we could easily go down to the hotel bar and hang out for a few hours (I guess after I changed into an afterparty-dress?), but I don't know, I'm not feeling it. We have about 50% out of towners so there would definitely be lots of people to hang out with, and part of me thinks that we should do it because well, when are we going to see these guys altogether again (although they are all invited to a beach day the next afternoon!) ... Another part of me feels like, I want to hang out with my hubby already! (not that we don't have the rest of our lives to do that ...)

What are you doing? Are you planning to have an "after party" or hang out with guests after the reception time is over?

Ive been looking through wedding blogs and magazine, and I noticed a lot of people are doing the same things in their weddings. I know not everything at your wedding can be unique, but i think its tiring see the same thing over and over. I was wondering what you guys think is played out and are tired of seeing at weddings.

I think: Those curly mustaches that everyone uses in photo booths, everything vintage, and tiaras.

No offense to anyone who has any of those in their wedding. Im not trying to be insulting, just curious to see everyones opinions!

Hello all! I am currently waiting, but I came across a post earlier that made me think of something me and the bf have not discussed yet in regards to our future. We have discussed that we do want to be together and he is planning to propose soon. We have discussed quite a few things about the how we see our future, but I would love to know what everyone else thinks needs to be discussed before we do people get married.

Thanks!

After this weekend I am sooo disappointed in myself because once again I brought up the whole engagement thing and I keep telling myself that I wont and that I just need to mellow out! I am really good about it for a month or two and then I just get upset and impatient... I dont want to keep mentioning it to him because I dont want to push him away and prolong it- we went to look at rings two weekends ago (his idea) so what is my problem? Am I being a complete brat or what? Please help me relax!

This is the second round of holidays in SO and I's 14 month relationship. Last year, we hadn't been dating long and spent the holidays with our own families. I personally want to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with his family (13 hours away). My mom is LIVID. She thinks that I need to be at her house for the holidays. (Background: I moved to KY 1.5 years ago, live with SO, we just bought a house.) I feel like this is the only time we get several days off from work and can make the long trip to visit his family. We live less than 3 hours from my parents so we can see them whenever. We need more than a weekend to be able to spend time with his family. I've only met them twice and I want to get to know them better and for them to get to know me better. I asked my mom how she would feel if my brother were living 13 hours away with a girl, thinking about marrying her, and my mother had only met her twice. She's still mad. I can understand her side but I still feel it's important to spend the holidays with his family. How do you handle things like this? Have you had issues with figuring out how to spend your holidays?
