I can't wait for it to come in (5 more months or so!) Here is a picture of me in the dress! There is a very visable seem in the front that really stands out... My new one will not have that! He proposed on our 8th dating anniversary so this was a long time coming :) I feel pretty prepared considering we've only been engaged for 3 weeks. We are getting married in another province (Ontario) as that is where all of both of families reside (besides my immeidate family who will travel with us). Ceremony in his parents family backyard in front of 12 people. Reception to follow at a banquet hall with 50 guests in total. So far,we have pastor, reception venue, catering, cake, photographer taken care of. I bought my dress on a whim earlier this week. It was one the dress shop owner put in my pile to try and it ended up being the one. I immediately welled up as soon as it was on and all laced up. My mom and sister also agreed it was the 'one'. Just over 8 months to go! How are things going with you so far? So far so good, can't complain. I feel ahead of the planning game so I should be able to relax soon enough. How is FI feeling about the planning so far? FI is great, he is trying to help out when he can. He is suppose to be working on the music, officant and tux. He has started looking online for tux ideas.  What did you accomplish last month? FI and I picked our first dance song. I took dress to the tailor and we are working together to make some changes. (when I say work together, I mean I say, "hey, I got an idea and he says ok). Found and bought chair covers off Craigslist, yes Craigslist for a sell of a deal Redid our wedding website- long story but we lost everything after old site closed down without warning I ordered a $70 gift certificate off Groupon for $17 for Vista Print, haven't used yet.  Starting to look at invitation wording and I think I found one.  I went to Michael's and loaded up on discounted ribbons for invites and favors I bought 99 DIY invites from Craigslist for cheap, I love Craigslist. A bride with the same color scheme bought to many invites so her lost was my gain.  Found some cute "Thank You" cards from Joann's Fabric, on sale of course, lol.   Updated our wedding registry. It's a work in progress because we are so far out Went to my first Bridal show and pray I don't become a bridezilla like most of those girls there.  What are you trying to accomplish this month?  Hoping my FI will finally go to a Tux shop and try on Tux's Buy and finalize weding accessories (shoes, jewerly,etc) In my mind I think I want to start my DIY invites this month but I might wait til next month.  Use up my Vista Print deal from Groupon Start looking for a Florist  Lock in a vendor for our decor Start making a few DIY things for the cocktail hour and recpetion  Hoping to continue looking on Craigslist and eBay for more deals :)   Thanks for sharing- more cool boards coming soon.     eperez21 on "How's the wedding planning coming along? I'm from the caribbean and most of my family lives out there so it makes sense to have the wedding there. I am so excited because we just booked the tickets for us and his inmediate family as well as my inmediate family that live nearby. The wedding is on June 23rd, this is what we have: *Church *Reception site and food *DJ, Photographer, and Videographer deposit paid *My BMs and MOH have their dresses *Decided on flowers and themes *Received the wedding invitations and got the envelopes addressed *Got my shoes and head band   This is what I'm missing: *Still waiting to receive my dress and alter *Buy a veil *BMs to alter their dresses *Choose the dress for the flower girls *Order the wedding favors *Decide on the flavor of the cake (already chose the design) *Finalize the design for the bouquet   There's still so much to plan but I feel like I'm getting there.
