My ring sits really low into the halo setting and has 16 prongs around it. I am left handed so I wanted something I did not have to worry about at all coming loose. My center stone is .85 carats, with .4 total carats making up the halo/rest of e-ring band. The second picture was to try to show how low it fits (I don’t have my e-ring on my right now to take a better pic so I am working iwth what I have)

@anova1931:  I love the round in a halo look!  I voted to keep it round but get it set lower In a halo.

Just out of curiosity, if you changed to a cushion, would you keep the same size stone?  Cushions ae lovely, too!

I personally always prefer halos that are set really low into the setting rather than high settings. And I loooooove cushions! (I have one, haha)

I think your upgrade will look beautiful!

I vote for keep your round in the same setting, but have the stone lowered. My round sits low in my cushion halo setting 🙂

I’m biased because I have a round in cushion halo that I had set above, so I say keep it as is.  My ring originally came set flush with the halo and it really took away from the way light hit the diamond and allowed it to sparkle.

You know that cushions face up smaller than rounds, right?  So if you’re upgrading then you will have to get an even bigger cushion to get the bigger look you want.

I personally love what you have – the round in a cushion halo and I think it lookls plenty big!

@anova1931:  Thank you! I love your setting, and I would always choose a round stone over a cushion because they face up larger and have more sparkle in my opinion. I just think the round and cushion halo really complement one another. I’m biased obviously 😉
