Hello lovely ladies (and handsome men)!
My SO and I are in the “pretty-much-engaged” category, with our lives on track and both agreeing that we will get married and start to make babies within the next 2 years (I’m turning 29 this year, he’s 26, and we’ve been together 3 years).
That being said, I have my mind set on moissaniteco’s sol165 solitaire, with 4 prongs instead of 6, and I’m torn about what size stone I want! I think even the 6mm round brilliant might look larger than my preference.
My ring finger is size 5, and I have long fingers (which makes them look even more slender) and I find that stones tend to look very large on me. I have told everyone (and their dogs) that I will be getting moissanite instead of a diamond, so it’s not an issue of passing it off. I’d love to see 0.50ct range stones to help me decide (preferably moissanite, but any stone is welcome!) on size 5 range fingers!

KhaleesiStormborn: I’m on the same boat! 2.5 years together, 10 months of living together. His parents recently started calling me their daughter in law. I’ve seen the ring he just wants to formally propose. I’m not 100% sure of the size because it’s an heirloom. But I think .3-.5 and I’m a size 4.5

LittleE3: oh wow, I love that ring! It’s perfect! You and lolot now officially have my two favourite rings on the bee! 🙂
I’m definitely leaning toward the 5mm (0.50ct equivalent) stone for my ring, and yours is boosting my confidence in that choice!

KhaleesiStormborn: thank you so much. The ring means so much more to me. It was the ring his grandfather proposed with, engraved with his grandparents initials and the date he proposed. oddly enough, it fit my tiny finger perfectly without sizing! His grandfather was a huge part of his life and he is actually named for him! (His grandma was a sassy lady and went and picked a bigger ring, this was the original: I tried on the bigger one, a 2 carat, and it looked hilarious)

Mine is a .64ct on a size 5.5 – I’ve since had it reset to a 3 stone, but I think size is easier to judge in the solitaire pictures.

A little less than .5ct, size 5.25

My diamond is .83 carats but since its a princess cut it faces up only 5.3mm which is in between the size of a .5-.75 round brilliant. My ring size is 3.5

KhaleesiStormborn: That’s a beautiful setting. Love your name too! Haha! Here’s a pic of my ring, it’s 0.51ct and a size I1/2 (4.25 or 4.5 I think).
