Wendy: you love that? wow! I wish I did! We chose the DW to have the least planning possible, and still, I could not imagine planning one more detail than this. If we had went the traditional route and had the money for this, we would probably just went to the courthouse or hire a wedding planner to take care of everything.
I just want to be married and have that special moment and magical day - planning it? not so much!!
@egb- you are right, keeping things in perspective for us :) I have a long engagement too and its nice to "remember" what its really about! CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!!!
5 months to go!!!! Even though we have planned everything and paying for everything by ourselves, we love it 100%!!!!! This journey of wedding planning has taught us alot, taught us how to save better and manage our finances better, it has taught us to still be ourselves no matter who else in our lives are! We are planning to save after the wedding to buy a house and have another baby, this a a great turning point in our lives and we wouldnt change it for anything!

I had a 13 month engagement...but so far, 5 months to go, I'm still loving it!

Wow!
We are finally getting there. We chose to have a long engagement, but in the end, we regret that decision because when you're wedding planning, this is all you think about; so this year was long for both of us. If we had to redo this, 8 months would have been plenty enough.
What strikes me the most at this point, is that all the details that stressed me out, we just that: details! It's like we're back to basics now, the only thing I can see is how lucky I am that I'll be married to this incredible man. Everything is just calm and peaceful now. Whether the wedding goes as planned or not, I'm sure we'll have a great marriage; and lets face it: a nice party in the Caribbean can't be a disaster!
So to all you planning bees that feel overwhelmed: it goes away and leaves room for the nice, really important stuff.
Hang in there!
