My 10 year class reunion is this weekend!  I just can't believe it.  I mean I totally feel like I should still be a junior in high school, even with a career, house, wedding coming up, etc.  All my high school memories seem like they were just yesterday!!

Anyone else with a reunion coming up soon or just had one?  Was it as strange for you as it is for me?  LOL

Mine is next month...if they don't cancel it due to lack of interest. :oP I'm still not sure if I'm going to go or not (I didn't grow up with the kids I went to high school with, moved to PA my freshman year of high school); I'm not sure anyone will know who I am or that I'll know anyone else. :o)

You'll have to let us know how your reunion went! Are you guys meeting for dinner? Ours is at a casino/horse racetrack. Should be interesting.

Mine is right after Thanksgiving!  It's going to be at a restaurant.  I'm kind of excited to catch up with people I haven't seen in a long time, although I agree that I can't believe it's been 10 years!

@mssushi: Having it at a casino/track sounds like it could be fun.

Oh man, funny you should say that!  First of all, I'm from a super small town and now only live an hour from there.  There were only like 55 people in my class.  And I pretty much still talk to most of them, or at least see them somewhere when I'm in town there.  So it's not much of a "reunion" anyway!  The place we were going to have it (like the only place in town haha) required a minimum number of people for reserving it, and that number was higher than our whole class.  So that was out!  Then it was decided (and I was not happy about it) to have a cookout up at this person's camp in the woods....BYOB and all that. And I am very laid back, as you can see from my wedding planning posts, but I mean really?!?!   Well only 3 people rsvp'd, so it got canceled.  So now whoever shows up in town is just going to meet at a little sports bar. hahaha.  Oh yea, and tailgating tomorrow night at the high school football game.  whew.

My fifteen year (GASP!) reunion should be this year but no one planned it-I know there will be a 20 year. I had THE BEST time at my 10 year reunion. It was so much fun and it was awesome to see everyone. Have fun!

At my 10-year HS reunion, I was surprised at how many people were married with two kids (and a third on the way!).  It was so great to see old faces and meet spouses, etc!  You'll have a blast (and it's amazing how fast time goes!!)

My future hubby's reunion is in October, he can't care less.  Or so he'd like me to believe.  Because all of a sudden he cares about the "gut" he has (totally not there) and the hair that seems to be thinning.  Ha!  I just laugh to myself.  He's fine!

Mine is next year, there are already talks about it.  And I always feel a little 'slow to develop' around my HS class.  Ok, so I'll explain.  I went to HS in upstate NY but immediately moved to NYC upon graduating.  The lifestyle is different down here.  Marriage, kids, houses, not the highlight of our lives.  But then, with the invention of Facebook I realized that all the people still in Upstate NY have kids, husbands, houses.  And I'm just truckin' along, none of that here.  Lol, sounds insecure but I think HS can do that to you.  Whether you're still in it or your reunion is looming in the distance.

I was really nervous about mine, but it got cancelled last minute because of lack of interest, guess we'll catch up in 10 more years.

Technically it's not a reunion, but it's a 10 year opening of the school celebration.

I'm only going to town because we decided to go to the fair this weekend... and it's supposed to rain the whole weekend!  It had better stop long enough for us to go to the fair... or else!

Honeybun, I'd ask if you went to my hs (we only had 55 in my class, 26 before us), but we aren't having an official reunion... and this would be the 6th year since my graduation.

My husband's ten year reunion was this year, and he enjoyed it, although he said that with Facebook he pretty much knew what was going on with everyone anyway.

Mine is this upcoming year (2010), but as far as I know nothing is being planned yet. When I was back in town for my wedding, some people asked me about it (I was on the grad class executive), but I've gotta admit after planning the wedding I am looking forward to not "having" to plan for something, know what I mean?

@realeastcoaster   Yes, def. feel the no more planning thing!  I feel the same way about facebook.  There are several I'm still good friends with, some I see or talk to every now and then, and the rest of them - I know everything they do/have been up to through facebook.  So it does just feel like a party, more than a "reunion." haha

I skipped my 10-year (this summer). It was really expensive (like, $90 pp) for appetizers (no dinner, no drinks) at a "cantina" that is usually $25 for dinner and a drink. Out of my graduating class of about 650 people, I think they had about 40 people show? And of course with a class that big, most of them were people I didn't know. I keep up with many of the people I'd like to keep up with on Facebook, and that's good enough for me. ;)

@ marigold   650!!!!  hahahaha that's more than twice what we had in our whole school, and our high school <span style="text-decoration: underline;">included 8th grade LOL.  If you didn't "know" know everyone in the school, you at least knew who they were.  I can't begin to imagine being in a class/school that big.  Tongue out

oh goodness. kind of a sore topic for me. lol. i planned a nice night out for our ten-year reunion but so many people complained about ticket prices that we first almost cancelled due to lack of interest and then changed to a byo-everything picnic at the park. sigh. it's so disappointing. i'm sure it will be fun [it's next month] but i had expected more for our 10 year. especially since i have a feeling this will be our ONLY reunion. i sure as heck am not planning anything ever again for this group! LOL

@honeybun: The whole school was about 2,600 people. I think it's close to 3,000 now. It was RIDICULOUS. It wasn't until the reunion started coming up that I realized how many of their names I had never even heard before, though.

I thought that I might go to my 20-year... but I won't care about the 500 of them whose faces I'd never seen before anymore in ten years than I do now, so I think that's out, too. ;)
