I feel like they sort of kill your craving for whatever snack they're made out of (oreos, chips ahoy, etc) but they are NOT filling. I'd rather just have one Oreo, or Chips Ahoy cookie or something and be done with it.
I hate the Oreo ones... what is the cookie without the cream?? :)
I know! I'm obsessed with the Oreo Cakesters. Oh. My. Goodness. They are so good.
I agree w/lampshade127. Those are YUMMY. But I also agree w/the rest...they are NOT filling. Have 1 or 2 'real' cookies and cap it off.
I love 100 calorie packs!! It would fix the chocolate (oreos) or salty (ritz snaks) cravings but would never feel me up! Have you ever tried SKINNY COWS!? If you have a chocolate craving these are perfect and big enough to fill u up too! For you WW members they are either 2-3 pts. depending which type you eat!
i love the idea of them but it always just feels like so much packaging waste. and jingle - skinny cows are the best!! also tofutti cuties.
What are 100cal packs? Do you make up little bags of 100cal worth of snacks, or do you buy them like that?
@JoeyEmma: Here they are: http://www.nabiscoworld.com/100caloriepacks/
I like the Chips Ahoy 100 cal packs, but the Oreo ones irritate me - so many of the cookie parts are just floating around in the bag with no white stuff. wtf?
@missomally: I LOVE cakesters too - but not the golden ones.
JoeyEmma: Nabisco makes these 100 calorie packs, they are already prepacked and there are many different kinds, likes oreos, ritz, lorna doone cookies, chips ahoy, chees nips, etc! It's a good concept if you can control yourself to eat one bag!
I had a roommate that would eat pack after pack of them. Totally not the point but I can see how that happens. They aren't filling. Also I think most of them are gross. Taste nothing like they should and I can't get the original out of my mind.
My mom makes her own 100cal packs up for whatever snack she wants. She does WW so tries to keep track of her points.
Thanks for the info- Some of them seem to have be low cal but still relatively high in fat- one of them has 4g of normal fat (including 2g of saturated fat) which is 17% fat!
In WW terms they seem to be about 1.5-2points (although I think the UK system is a bit different from the US one, we only use sat fat and calories to work out points)
hmmm I don't know much about WW but that is really interesting if the US and UK systems are different
Sandollar- maybe somebody could clarify the WW pts issue. I know for def in the UK we only look at cals and saturated fat.
I ate 6 the other day (yes, the entire box). I have to stop buying those thing!
I just looked on the WW website and this is what it says about the point system:
Every food has a POINTS value, based on its calories, fat and fiber. The Momentum program uses POINTS values to help you keep track of what you eat. You stay within a POINTS "budget" that's personalized just for you.
So I'm assuming all three are taken into account in the US
Lol, I hate that I buy the 100 calorie packs with the idea of portion control. But then I have one pack and I'm so hungry that I abandon the 100 calorie packs and go for something else that's worse. I'm a mess! hahaha
I buy them and put one in my lunch, i unfortunetly have that urge to have a sweet with every meal!! It helps for that and is low cal, but def not fills you up or come close to it.
I love my Calorie Packs! All I need is one bite of something sweet, but if I open something else I end up eating so much more... Calorie packs are perfect for me :)
I don't buy them. They are a waste of packaging. I also agree with the other posters that it is a better idea to just satiate your craving by having a few bites of the real thing!
They're not meant to fill you up! lol Just curb your craving.
When I eat the 100 cal. packs, I feel totally satisfied. Sometimes I even feel guilty because they're so chocolatey (IMO), but then I remember that they're only 100 calories, so the guilt subsides! ;)
I can't eat just ONE oreo or chips ahoy and stop, so this is deifnitely the best option for me! A 100 cal. bag satisfies me more than limiting myself to ONE of the real thing ever did!
Im not a big fan of 100 calorie packs. I think its better if you can to just use self control to moderate your portions. If you have a hard time controlling your portions the individual packing isnt going to stop you. Also, because of the individual packaging they are expensive. Most of those types of snacks contain hydrogenated oils which are really bad for you.
I like the 100-calorie packs because they're easy to grab and go. However, I've been trying to save some money by buying my snacks in bigger bags and portioning them out myself.

I just ate 4 of them. Completely defeats the purpose of limiting the calories. The worst part is that I'm still hungry! Ugh. :)
