-Finalize menu/wedding day plans with our caterer (not having traditional caterer-having our favorite resturant who we're friends with the owner cater our wedding, but that requires a lot of planning out)
-Talk with photographer (again, another friendor- still haven't even negociated price)
-Get gifts for attendents (sorry guys, this is last on my priority list, so you might get a big IOU)
I know I'm forgetting things, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.
If I had known 9 months ago that my parents were indeed going to be able to contribute financially, I wouldn't have picked the venue I did, because I have to do EVERYTHING by myself. Our venue is beautiful, and our choices in food/alcohol will be very personal since we had to bring everything in, but sometimes I wish I went slightly more traditional and went with the Country Club that was a little bit more money, but had food/alcohol/table-linens etc. all taken care of.
Oh, I also work 60 hours week (40 regular job, 20 hours internship for school). I have a sneaky feeling that a good chunk of this stuff will probably get done 3 days before when my mom and sister come into town to help me out.
Ugh don't remind me.
I need to:
Finish spray painting part of the favors.
Make the programs.
Book a DJ (don't ask)
Book the hotel room (seriously, don't ask)
Book our transportation (...)
Finalize with the florist for the centerpieces
Make the table name signs
Get marriage license
Make the escort cards
Buy the alcohol
Buy rings
Pick up the dress and do final fitting
Make maps and information inserts for OOT bags
Put together the OOT bags
Plus 1000 other things I'm sure I need to do but aren't on this list.
Your lists look very similar to mine. I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who hasn't booked the hotel room yet!
My list looks something like this:
Buy Ring Bearer Pillow
Purchase Garter
Book Wedding Night Hotel Room
Pick Up Dress and Have Final Fitting
Order Table Numbers (Once all RSVP's are in)
Finalize Centerpieces with Florist
Make Programs
Create Photo Reel for Special Viewmaster Escort Card (My Cousin Owns an Awesome Business That Puts Together 3D Viewmaster Reels for Special Events)
Have Bridesmaid Gifts Engraved
Buy Gifts for Parents
Finalize Lists with DJ
Have Second Hair Trial (Almost there with the look)
Make Charity Donation In Lieu of Favors
Finalize with Photographer
Finalize Menu
Get Final Cake Design to Baker
Create Timeline with my DOC
Pay Remaining Balances
Participate in Remaining Religious Ceremonies
And more I'm sure...
Let's just say...A LOT! In addition to getting ready to move to another country! But I can't wait!!! My fiance just called me at work, made my day! (We are LD in case anyone didn't know.) And my bachelorette weekend is upon us! Woo!
YAY I can't believe it's almost here! Here is my to-do list:
-print escort cards & finish seating chart
-print random DIY signage (bar sign, rehearsal menus)
-finish groomsmen gifts
-finalize head count with caterer and reheasal dinner
-confirm hotel reservations for guests
-wrap gifts
-confirm everything with florists, photographers, limo, caterer and DJ
OMG I can't freaking believe it. Did it hit anyone else today that it's actually going to happen? No? Just me? Okay then. :)
Anyway, my to-do list is thankfully pretty short now (yay not procrastinating for once in my life!!) but there's still some doozies on here:
-Punch, stamp, and label candy buffet/ escort bags
-Assemble table numbers
-Go to wholesale flower store and start getting ideas (I'm DIY'ing)
-Find flower storage for day before
-Take dress in for alterations (luckily I found this awesome place that only needs 10 days... I'm still giving them two weeks or more but as I'm still trying to shave off some weight, it's a blessing!)
Aaaaaand my big, huge one:
-FINISH MAKING THE VESTS FOR THE GUYS
That one is going to kill me. Sigh.
Oh yeah, I have to tea dye my veil and take the programs in to be printed, cut, and then assemble them, too.
I can't believe we're at the one month mark, ladies!! Every weekend since the 100 day mark has been spent on wedding DIY projects and planning. Hope to not burn out before the wedding ;P
I still need to...
We're almost there!!!
WOW! So this is what i have left:
- confirm enterance songs with Dj for bridal party
- Pick up bouboniers
-pay the balances with our vendors.
-Finalize the menu and confirm # of peopel with caterer
-Pick up my dress from last alterations
-make the escort cards ( seating plan was completed this weekend !!)
-still waiting ot receive BM gifts ...but will need to wrap those)
and other than that.... just stress for the next 3 1/2 weeks :)
I cant beleive that after all this planning... its actually happening... its so complelely sureal...
