YAY! 1 year im so excited! Its feel its been forever
I'm a 10/9/10 bride! I'm also working on my Save the Dates, and I hope to get them out soon. I'm sure it will be a really popular weekend, since it's a long weekend. Also, most of my family is out of town, so I want to give them plenty of time to get time off and make travel arrangements.
(can't wait til we get linked up to the month list!)
Oh man, it's surreal. So flipping excited! We're booking our venue tomorrow, have our caterer, and are sending out our STD's this weekend...we're having a destination wedding so we wanted to give people a heads up early. But YAY!
OMG I have been compulsively checking to see if there was a October 2010 board for so long and now there is one!
Our plans are going great. We have most of our vendors booked except for cake and florist, which we're working on in the next few months. Right now we're working on hotel block, STDs and booking the florist for centerpieces.
And now we're LESS THAN ONE YEAR!! Yippee!!
YAAAAAAAY!!!! Month twins unite! lol
I am so so so soooo excited! and the fiance is finally getting into it! (men) lol
We have our ceremony site and reception site/caterer booked, cake booked, photographer booked, officiant booked, and wedding dress ordered.
I'm currently working on finding decor/flowers, getting quotes and am going shopping for invitations and save the dates next week! WOO HOO!!
I'm so terrified that I'm going to forget something huge!!! lol
Next stop, DJ land! :) :) :)
StinaG I have all those things done too! It is such a huge relief that all the major things are out of the way. I cannot believe it's less than a year away!
i have been waiting for this board to appear!! yahoo for our day!!
we have the church and reception locations booked, I have my dress, and we just signed the contract with our photographer.
up next: STDs and a DJ. Can't wait to compare planning details!!
Anyone doing a very fall-like theme? with colors and fun fall things like pumpkins, berries, etc? I don't know how fall i want to go.
Uber-excited! @LisaBee, we also have both the church and reception venue booked, I've bought the dress and Save the Dates. We hired a planner yesterday, as well, because it was just getting super overwhelming and my mother offered.
Our colors are going to be charcoal grey and crimson, which I think is elegant and in the spirit of fall without being blatant. My FH's a redhead and I have brown skin, and so brown and orange were both immediately out for our color scheme as far as we were concerned. I do want to incorporate berries into our decor, but I'm not sure how much yet. And we might do fall leaves for our guests to toss as we leave the church and head out to take pictures.
Hurray! I'm here as a 10/10/10 bride! I hope we can be an inspiration and support for each other.
@meastro- oooooo those sounds like beautiful colors! and good call on a planner. I think I can make it without one, but we will see how long I last!

I had my mom and dad go to our wedding location (it's in VT and I live in DC) and take pictures on 101009 for me! I had to see what the foliage looked like! SO Excited - for us all! xoxox

@GwenMarieDC that picture is EXACTLY why we're getting married in October and honeymooning in New England. And awesome of your parents to oblige.
Our reception venue post-marked the envelope with our signed contract and receipts on 10/10/09. I don't know whether or not she did it on purpose, but I'm keeping that envelope forever.
@ LisaBee - we're doing a fall theme! With pumpkins and leaves! Lol we're definitely fall lovers and we live in New England so it will hopefully be beautiful on 10/30/10 :) I am thinking of incorporating a shade of blue into the scheme but my matching abilities aren't that great so I must find help lol. Oh my gosh if you're doing pumpkins you should consider glitter pumpkins! If they aren't your thing that's fine, but I adore them lol. So yea, be as fall or non-fall as you prefer. It'll still be gorgeous!

Only today have we decided on 10/10/10 wedding date in Las Vegas. Thats the extent of what we have planned! But luckily for me my aunt is a wedding planner (one of the BEST and most creative!) and she will be able to help with most everything!
I got engaged after 10/10/09 and I'm looking at a 10/10/10 date! The pressure's on, so much to do!

Hello my fellow Month Twins and Date Twins Im new to the board and I am loving it already. A little nervous about booking a site I just got Engaged on October 25 but I know I need to move Quickly our date is Popular girls. I just want to make sure it is a Per..... i mean wonderful place for my wedding day. I am going to try my best to refrain from using the word Perfect in this process just to stay grounded. :O)
I can't believe it.. ten months! We just had our engagement party this past weekend, and our families met for the first time. No blood was shed and delicious cake was eaten.
How is the planning going for everyone else? I've got all of my vendors - just sorting out details now! Can't wait till we go for a cake tasting.

yay for 10-10-10 brides! it's supposed to be a lucky day, and it is because we are getting married! does anyone think that it's necessary to have a back up reception spot just incase it rains?

We are getting married 10.10.10 as well in Laguna Beach (CA) sooooexcited!!! Sending my STD soon....but I am having a problem figuring out which design I like better. I would post them right now to have you girls look at them but i am at work and they are on my laptop at home :( But if I send them out by the end of January will that be enough time for guests to make plans? Or is it the sooner the better?

OMG!!!
We've been engaged since May of 2009, and right away I picked 10-10-10 as the wedding date, come hell or high water. Aren't we lucky that the 11th is Columbus Weekend? 75% of the FH's side is not in NYC (I am a born and raised NY girl), so our save the dates are going out by the end of January. (Word of mouth has been going around for months, of course.)
All of the dress hunting is finished! Our colors are navy and fuschia with gold metallic accents. I am NOT a harvesty gal, and our venue (booked!) - Battery Gardens - is very clean and modern, so no browns and oranges for us. We also have our photographer, officiant, and makeup artist.
In the next few weeks, our priorities/appointments are: florist, band, hotel block, as well as those Save the Dates!

we got engaged on 10-10-2007 and we will get married on 10-10-2010 and my birthday is 10-10-1988 :)))
OMG! it seems like I just posted on this thread yesterday!! 6 months! YIKES!!!!
I had my "OMG, it's less than 5 months" freak out the other day. Now I'm realizing that it's almost 4 months. I guess we need to get cracking with planning. Still ISO: DJ, invitations, finalizing decor (not fall, but maybe woodsy or the opposite direction of white orchids in tall vases). Maybe I'll let the florist surprise us! I seriously don't care, is that weird?
Not weird at all. I've been pretty laid back about important decisions too. Flowers, i have some ideas but im open to what the florist may suggest as well. Never know!
It's all good - less grey hair - more smiles.
Lets just hope it doesnt blow up in our faces! LOL
