Weddingbee boards

I just got home tonite and have been dying to recap with you ladies (and also check in on fellow early october WIVES!). Of course, I am beat- so I will just post a teaser pic and say that all the hard work was worth it. Our day was AMAZING. We lucked out with probably the best weather I have seen in Jersey in October in forever. I can't get over it.

We got married at Merri-Makers at Water's Edge in Sea Bright, NJ. The place was beautiful and the main reason i went with it was because if it was to rain and we had to get married inside I still loved the room and the view of the ocean from the windows (that was not always the case with the other locations i looked at). Luckily, the day was picture perfect!!!  

The venue was great- I would highly recommend it. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy. My drinks were always getting filled, there was always someone nearby to get whatever was needed. They made sure that the timeline stayed on track, they also set up all of my DIY stuff for me!

My photographers were so much fun to work with. I already posted some engagement photos here.. we just got a few of their wedding teasers. they were willing to do anything for the perfect shot, even if it meant being wet up to their knees. They are a husband/wife team and really competitive with each other. They are a lot like hubby and i in that sense so it was just a blast interacting with them.

We used John at Elite Entertainment as our DJ. He was fantastic. Our wedding was an afternoon wedding but people were CONSTANTLY on the dance floor. He played the perfect mix of fun songs that our friends go crazy for and some more classic stuff for older guests. It was crazy- you would have thought it was a night wedding for sure!! He listened to what we wanted, made suggestions, and it was just perfect.

I have very few regrets...  if i were to do it again I think I would have been a 2 dress bride.. dancing so much in my long dress got tiresome... my bustle got ripped and it was just a mess by the end... but it looked amazing so, yea, if that was my only regret so be it..

oh oh, and my DIY stuff? sooooo great.. everyone kept saying that they saw us EVERYWHERE in the wedding...  see below: i designed the programs.. there were 3 versions- a crossword puzzle, mad libs, and fill in the blanks ( the other side had the infoabout wedding party and such).. we were getting texts for days saying "im stuck on the 3rd one- where did you meet?!?!" and stuff like that. I made the bouttonieres and also glued shells to wires for the bouquets (there were a few in each)- i use Petal Beach in Long Branch. Loved how they turned out.  we also did a sand ceremony. i used a shadow box frame and attached an engagement photo to the inside of the glass. my dad drilled a hole on top and made a stand for it. when we poured sand in it went behind the photo. 

i also did the centerpieces..    we made burlap runners and then filled vases with beachy stuff.

the frames are from ikea. one side had the menu, the other was the table name/number (16 tables, 16 retired yankees) and one of our engagement photos.

haha, sorry for like a million posts but i know i LOVED these when i was still engaged... back in the day..

Our wedding party was mismatched. The girls were able to buy whatever dress they wanted in a light sage, aqua, seafoam color and we bought the guys ties that matched although each was different.  sorry- some of these are now guest photos too...

i can't forget the cake!!

@starfish: ah, yes, i followed your posts closely because of our love for the starfish ;)

@Adnama54:  haha, yea it is like a beach club so they plant some. at first i thought it was a little cheeseball but they looked awesome in the pics...
