Maggie Sottero Adelaide

posted 2 months ago in Beehive

I have now, for real, no more looking this time, have decided on Adelaide for my gown.  I love it, it is absolutely perfect.  One of the dress stores in town sells it for $675, they said alterations would be around $100 to shorten the hem in the front by about an inch and shorten the train, then pressing it would cost about $40.  Another dress store that I went to today quoted me $625 with steaming it included, and I forgot to ask about what alterations would cost.

My question is, does $625 seem average for that dress?  I'm going to pay that I'm sure, I just was curious if anyone else is wearing that dress and how much it cost them, to compare.  I might call around to all the dress stores in the area that carry Maggie's line, but we'll see.

I actually just bought this dress about 2 weeks ago and I think it cost around $675 with taxes and shipping, so that sounds about right!  I didn't ask how much the alterations were going to cost though, so I can't help you there.  good luck!!

Least I know the price is about average and I'm not getting ripped off just because this is California and everything is expensive out here.

I'm working 8 hrs of short notice overtime tonight that will just about pay for it, or at least the half I need to order it (after I consider all the freakin' taxes taken out).   hehe.

I just bought this dress in Ohio for $599 from Catan's fashion.  You can get it made shorter for no extra cost with Maggie Sottero.

I love this dress!!

The one dress store here that had a sample of Adelaide (where I found it and fell in love with it) told me that you can't get this brand with a manufacturer-shortened train....that it's an alteration that has to be made after it's received...unlike a couple of other brands I tried on that they said could do that.  Hmmm....sounds fishy....maybe it's another reason not to get it from that particular store.  Then again, my mom is trying to talk me into not shortening the train.

As for the inch or so shorter that it needs to be in the front, I wouldn't wanna order it that way, since I didn't get to try on my size.  I'd rather get it, figure out what shoes to wear, and then see how much exactly needs taken off the front.
